What's a date?

Yeah, a nice dinner and a comedy club. Men dig comedy. Then take him home and rip his clothes off. I am not sure I remember what happens after that but I hear I used to enjoy it before the kid explosion

No matter what don't talk about Triathlons and laugh a lot. I always found a Cosmo was good for forgetting some training.

Actually, the hotel idea is pretty good. I was thinking about something nicer than "love hotels". Don't forget room service breakfast the next day!

I think it really depends on what your honey likes to do.  Dinner and a movie are fine.  But if he likes bowling, take him bowling and drink cheap beer and eat hot dogs.

I like the idea of a comedy club.  Or go hear a local band.

The perfect date is one that is special to both of you and incorporates your individual tastes.

Have fun!

where do you live? My hubby and I love going out on a date and having a night to ourselves. I like to go to the casino (pure adult fun) and gamble a little, have some drinks and go dancing. We have even gone to the horse races for something different and had a few bets, few beers and laughs. We`ve also had quiet dates and made a picnic and gone down to the beach and just enjoyed our own company and walks along the water. As someone else said, what ever you guys like doing, think of when you were first dating and what you guys were doing back then. But, whatever it is, have fun!!!

I have to second the supper and a comedy club idea. There is nothing like having a good evening of great laughs. Laughter is the most romantic thing in the world - IMHO.

I am going to go with the unique date. For the extreme nut in all of us, go-carts, firing range, or climbing wall and dinner.

Or, on a less adrenline based night, you could go with a moonlight hike with wine and cheese (your whatever you prefer). Don't forget the headlamps.

Beer, wings, football, 2 words HOOT ERS

Sorry that was my night out!!

I could suggest, depending on weather, picnic and a movie. Classic.

You could go see the movie "The Cave" - um, scratch that... You haven't done your open water check-out dives yet, right?

I'm not a big fan of the whole "movie" as a date thing. When I go out with my wife, I would like to actually interact with her, communicate, talk about things that you can't talk about when you're surrounded by kids. Actually have a conversation. We actually went out for dinner in the North End of Boston last week, followed by meeting some friends out for drinks at a cafe afterwards. It was GREAT!!! That's fairly simple. Make sure you pick a nice restaurant though. You don't want to sit there and complain about how empty your drink is, you know?

I am going to advise you not to stay home. You are home enough. I don't know about you but I would pay big bucks to leave this house for a while. I am sick of it! A picnic on the floor of my house does not sound romantic in the least, it sounds like I am still cooking dinner and doing the clean up.

A concert is probably not going to get any interaction between the two of you either. Although I would enjoy a concert my husband is not a fan. Too loud.

Are there any outdoor music venues where you could talk quietly way back but close enough to hear the music and not bother others? What about something hokey like bowling? I love to bowl with Gene sometimes. We have a ball. He is really good tho. I mean he is fabulous. I suck. I know bowling isn't everyone's cup of tea but it's a lot of fun.

You are in Colorado and I am not sure where but is Red Rock near you? What is going on there this weekend?

Bowling's not a bad idea. They have rock'n'bowling around here - they turn down the lights, and turn up the music and smoke-machines, and it's great fun. It is loud, though, and there are lots of teens.

Sports is a good idea. Of course I will have to say C-H-I-P-O-T-L-E....

Now, I know that won't make the final cut, so I agree with Hooters. Guys do like to go there. I don't really like the food, but the salads are ok and the curley fries are good.

So, how about a game and Hooters?

Hooters is a tough call. At some point he is going to get distracted (we cant help it) then he is going to get in trouble.

Well, they're married and its "his date" so, 1. he's used to getting in trouble and 2. he'll be so happy he went to hooters, she'll get rewarded for taking him there. Winners all around.

Last night on Paula Dean she said that men are aroused by the smell of baking bread. So...

Take him to the Hooters Bakery - you know, the one with the large screen t.v. where his favorite sports team is playing (and they win), buy him a pizza and a pitcher of beer, then whisk him off to a cheap hotel!

A nice steakhouse and a movie of his choice. Even if its from a seedy video store. That is my 'real' suggestion.

I wouldn't recommend Hooters for the date, (as you later said), but it's actually a good place to go with your girlfriends for an afternoon/evening out. Think about it---the place is full of men. A table full of women at Hooters on game day----like shooting fish in a barrel ha!

i have to second Comet on this one..  Red meat and 'fun' of his choice are ALWAYS the best dates   even if that means you have kids and need to visit a hotel for peace and quiet

Thanks! I'm sure most guys would agree also. I mean, who will turn down a good piece of meat, and well, meat?
