  • ..

  • Yeah, a nice dinner and a comedy club... Then take him home and rip his clothes off...

Or save your money for Tri gear and just rip his clothes off! LOL!

Seriously, I've only been to a comedy club a few times but have really enjoyed it. So, my vote, taking some other suggestions into account, would be for:
    1) Steak dinner
    2) Comedy club
    3) A nice hotel, with Jacuzzi for 2, and a nice breakfast the next morning

    Have fun!

EXCELLENT suggestions, all around. I knew I'd get some banter from you guys. I'm leaning towards bowling or go carts, and then a steak dinner somewhere. (How's that for dichotomy?)We are slightly limited monetarily, but I have the off today and have some errands to run so I'm going to check out the local scene. (BTW we are in Longmont, Colorado.) Thanks, everyone! If you have any more suggestions, feel free to keep 'em coming!

oh well, nobody ever laughs at my jokes....

I figure men like food and sex best, so I'd tailor something around the specific guy to make him happy. I also figure that love/marriage benfits from novelty and variety so doing something unusual that you know he'd enjoy is a good bet.

One time a long time boyfriend and I went camping for one night: the campgrounds are only 5 blocks from my home, but it was amazing how it felt like we were totally gone from our daily lives. We cooked dogs and roasted marshmellows and cuddled by the fire. It was really romantic and relaxing.

My ex-husband and I used to go for "back of the truck" dates a lot: we'd get some food and a nice bottle of wine and drive somewhere pretty, set out some pillows and a blankie in the back of the truck and watch the sunset. We'd entertain each other by making up little stories about each other on adventures.

I can't speak to go-karts, but as for steak, if you're coming down to Denver, go to Sullivan's. The steak's great, the cocktails are fantastic! and on the weekends they typically have live jazz in the bar area. My suggestion for a drink would be the Knockout Martini, which is essentially pineapple infused vodka. It's good. Real good. A friend (girl) also told me that their Chocolate Diva Martini (I think that's the name of it) is pretty damn tastey too. Sullivan's gets high marks from me.

If you need other suggestions for good atmosphere in downtown Denver, PM me and I can see what we can do. Just let me know what you're looking for - loungey, chic/trendy, sporty, etc. Oh, and no offense to whoever suggested it, but don't take him to Hooters. I think the food sucks and the atmosphere sucks too. Sure, sometimes there are cute girls with healthy life supporting mammary glands, but for the most part it's not worth it. If you're looking for sports type environment, go to ESPN Zone instead. That way you can play games against each other (kind of like Dave & Buster's) while watching sports, etc.

We are a little strapped for cash these days so I think it's gonna be mini golf and Wahoo's fish tacos tonight. He LOVES that place, and I wanted to do an activity where he could "compete" and still "win." He's super competitive.

Ok so the date's changed slightly. I just resigned from my job and so he wanted to celebrate by making me dinner. So I am still taking him mini-golfing as the second half of the date but it's still a suprise. Thanks again, everyone for your awesome suggestions!

Well, I laugh at your jokes, but then again I have a twisted sense of humor.

I figure men like food and sex best, so I'd tailor something around the specific guy to make him happy. I also figure that love/marriage benfits from novelty and variety so doing something unusual that you know he'd enjoy is a good bet.

ALL WOMEN EVERYWHERE MUST LISTEN TO NEWBIEDOO. SHE SPEAKS WITH MUCH WISDOM. HER IDEAS HAVE MERIT, AND ARE INTERESTING TO ME.

but it was amazing how it felt like we were totally gone from our daily lives.

Yeah, I've always felt that was the key to a successful vacation. You don't have to fly around the world; you do need to get out of your life, your concerns, your mind, if only for a little bit. Surprisingly liberating, and surprisingly easy once you figure out how to do it.
