Subject: Pop Tarts I have to ask
So at the risk of sounding old or stupid or both, is there a hidden meaning behind pop tarts?  At first I thought it was a obsession for the food, now not so much.

There's no hidden meaning. There really can't be. Pop Tarts are the ultimate, the perfection, the food of the gods. They can't symbolize anything ... They ARE.

I don't want Pop Tarts to have any euphemistic/ Urban Definition. I would just prefer my strawberry frosted breakfast of choice (every Monday - Friday) to remain pure and untainted.

I pray it doesn't take on some hidden meaning like a "cosby sweater" or "donkey punch."

Monday mornings are tough enough... I don't want be found staring at my breakfast, mumbling to myself in a Kerriganesque manner... "Why me? Why, why, why?"

Yanti, is a pop tart just a pop tart or do you (and the Gods) have a favorite?

The simple PopTart encompasses all that is warm, gooey, sticky, sweet and comforting. It is the ultimate good. No one can eat a PopTart and be unhappy, unless maybe the PopTart is too hot and burns your tongue, then it is your own fault you are unhappy because you rushed the wonderful nectar of the PopTart gods.

I'm with you. Strawberry frosted every morning at work for the past 20 years. I keep boxes of them in my desk and a toaster down the hall. These and a cup of coffee are like a magnet drawing me out of bed in the morning.

The chocolate fudge ones are second on the list but only for special occasions and never in the morning. More like a dessert or late night snack.

Well said !

Coming back from Toronto I was stopped in the customs line ( this was in late 90's). They searched me, opened my bags, and THEN... they opened the foil on my Pop Tarts !.... the nerve THEY WILL PAY !

Well, as I said to my brother ... "a pop tart is a pop tart is a pop tart."

That said, FROSTED pop tarts are at the top of the list.

Cherry, blueberry, strawberry, brown sugar and cinnamon, then any other fruit, then any other frosted.

I love unfrosted, too, but it is simple love, not ecstatic bliss.

Ok, I will pick up a box of frosted strawberry today.  I LOVE strawberries and haven't eaten a pop tart since............at lease 10 years ago.  Can't wait to try one with coffee.

Markberry!!! ooh have a blast. I haven't had a Pop Tart myself since ... gosh, early March. I'm in serious withdrawal.

They are not bad with coffee ('a pop tart  is a pop tart ...') but I prefer them well-toasted, with cold milk.

Yep.. the frosted cherry and strawberry are tops, but Apple Cinnamon.... they are more than simple love.... they're not frosted per se, but they have that little white frosting line on them.... dam, I need a pop tart.

I like the Apple Cinnamon piping hot but do not understand why they don't frost them with say a very lite honey frosting.
