Anyone on BT doing this race?  I've done it a few times and enjoy it.    Hope the temps aren't too hot.

I'll be there, it's my first ever tri so I'm excited and nervous.

For those who have done it before, would you recommend a wet suit? I haven't checked the water temps but the distance for the try a try is pretty short.

It's a great venue for your first tri! If you are a confident swimmer you can probably go without. Good luck & have fun!

Hi Rondosa! Great to hear you will be joining us on Toronto Island. Lake Ontario is a big body of water and can have big fluctuations in temperature. I would suggest that you prepare for any possibility and should always consider bringing a wetsuit. There are several stores in and around Toronto that rent wetsuits. I believe the one with the largest selection is Enduro Sport.

Here is a link to our Training Resources section  Please take a look at the different sections. There is some good advice for all athletes. Please say hi on race day.

Thanks John! I've been debating about calling Enduro Sport about rental but I think I've decided that I will for sure.

I'll check out the resources, thanks! I did make use of the custom training schedules a while ago and built myself a 10 week program which has been pretty great - it's been really fun varying my workouts between swim, bike and run - never boring

Just a random question about attire. Sometimes in more professional races I see women athletes who wear shorts and a sports bra with a race number belt for bike and run, but in the rules here it says torso's must be covered. So I'll assume sports bra isn't allowed for women, right?

Women have to have something on the top and something on the bottom - bra and shorts are okay.  Men also have to have something on the top and can't cross the finish line without something.

doing the try a tri on saturday morning - worried about the water temp. don't want to rent a wetsuit just because its pretty expensive for the distance and also don't have time to try it out before the race.
