The Ghoulies are biking their way through September

I need to brag a little bit, if you all don't mind.

My son has been taking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for 3 months, my daughter has been taking them for 1 month. There are several adults who help the instructor during class, and others who come in early for their class which is right after the kid's class.

I had several people comment last night about how well my kiddos are doing. One of the guys who helps instruct sometimes told me it is beautiful to watch my kids on the mat. He said they both just have this natural flow to their movements, and natural instinct. Another guy congratulated Keri when she came off the mat on getting her stripe. He told her he loves to come watch her whip up on the boys who are older than her, bigger than her, and have been doing Jiu-Jitsu a lot longer than her. I was also asked if my kids have thought about doing competitions. One of the instructors thinks both of them could be champions. We will talk about that later, for right now I'm just going to let them have fun with it.

I am very proud of both of my kids, for everything they do, but I was just amazed that other people have been noticing them, too.

I had yogurt for breakfast this morning. Ok, I'll admit, it was mint chocolate chip flavored yogurt, but it was still yogurt. Baby steps.

I really need to focus on September on losing weight and getting fit and strong. All of those will help me be in less pain. My back has really been bothing me lately, and I need to start taking better care of myself.

I believe the current rite of passage involves providing us with alcohol, lots of alcohol. It doesn't hurt to frequently mention how awesome we are, either.

We've been showing it off for almost 2 years now.

My oldest step-daughter & her husband just moved back to Florida.  They lived in Florida for a few years and then moved out here for two years and now back to Florida.  I think that they will be happier there.  Better job opportunities and better weather.

Nope, never heard back. I didn't think the person they offered the job to would turn it down. I'm still hoping that this other company gets a job awarded to them this month, then I will have a new job on Oct 1.

Nothing major planned. The husband and kiddos are spending Friday night up at the cabin, so I will have the house to myself until lat Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure what I'm going to get in to. I would like to maybe do some hiking this weekend.

Lovely day at HW sites.

We are not doing much for the holiday weekend. Just the usual chores and stuff. We are having family from NM come to visit from Monday on. So that will be fun.
