There is a rumor floating around that this BT group of Canadiens on the "west side" (as they call it) don't really do all of the training that they claim to.  Apparently, they spend most of their time ice fishing and listening to hockey on the radio.  I cannot say where this rumor came from, or who confirmed it, but I assure you that its true.

Okay I know that you must be making this up because there aren't many Canadiens on the west side. Or maybe you're right... those Canadiens just can't get enough of the snow and hockey.

For the record, I am not a Canadien.

No worries guys, I'm not the sensitive - just pointing out that the rumour cannot possibly be true.

Hey I don't blame you. I I were from the GWN, I'd want to put as much distance between myself and Celine Dion as possible.

You are so confused. Rumour is definitely Canadian. Ask the British!

Rumour is British English. Canada is part of the English commonwealth.

Canadian's (and Canadien's) rant:

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader....
I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled....
and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a president.
I speak English and French, not American.
And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack.
I believe in peace keeping, not policing,
diversity, not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!

Canada is the second largest landmass!
The first nation of hockey!
and the best part of North America

My name is Joe!!
And I am Canadian!!!

I was identified as Canadian by an old guy in Australia by the way I said "about". Thing is, it's not really pronounce "aboot". Some Ontarians say something close to "a boat". I don't know really how I say it, it's not "aboot" but it's not the American way of saying it with the mouth wide open "abahwt". *Southerners excepted in the preceding generalization*

Easy way to speak southern English: add exactly one syllable to every word.

however, hockey is a workout.. sitting on the edge of a seat for 2-3 hours is a workout.. with the ocassional (if you;re a leafs fan) and the constant (if you're a canucks fan) jumping up when your team scores..

Hahaha. Being from Saskatchewan, we always cheered for anyone but the Leafs.

When building igloos don't forget to wear your toques.
