Subject: RE: The Power of MakeupOn behalf of the "girlie-girls" who also do triathlons, I have to say that makeup can be a good thing (especially the older I get! )---but if you know what you're doing, then most people will think that you are more "natural" vs. "made-up". I've actually had people tell me that I'm lucky that I don't have to wear make-up (if they only knew! )
I spend 3 times the amount of time on skin-care than I do on make-up. That's the key, IMO.
Finally, regarding photos---
Back in the spring, I was part of a professional photo-shoot for a project that I was working on. For a couple of hours, I had someone fluffing my hair and adjusting the lighting so that it was just "so". When we were finished, they pulled the images up on a computer monitor. We picked out the photos that we liked the best. Then the one assistant started taking his mouse and smoothing out various "imperfections". He was so proud of himself and I said, "I don't look like that! Put some of that back!" It was weird. It looked like me, but it didn't look like me. Ever since that experience, I look at photos in magazines much differently.... |
