Hey Paco,

I'm in Upper Western Vancouver Heights, near UBC. Always up for training partners.

I am in Kits. New to Vancouver and Canada, here for a few more months (till August) looking to do some training and the victoria half ironman. So if anybody knows any good groups or individuals who might like to do some training let me know.

Cheers

Aaron

Hey there Doc,

I had noticed that you were from Pocompton... (lol) that is cool, I have never really swam in a lake or the ocean for that matter as far as exercise is concerned, but I think that by then I should be proficient enough in swimming that I should be able to make it somewhat... as for going up and down Cypress or Seymour, what do you mean, on bikes?

I'm downtown. Well I'm still in Delta until Feb. 1st, but then I'm downtown.

Scott, Leah, Laura and I had a good time swimming in Sasamat and Kits beach last year. I can't wait for it to start again. Leah, I would definitely be up for the weekly hill climb. Let me know when you want to start putting the hurt on me.

I figured that much about the bikes, but like Grouse has the grind, maybe I thought that there was something similar in Cypress and Seymour that I had not heard of, do you guys go up via the road? and on road bikes or do you use the trails?? But i would be up for the challenge, even if I dont quite make it to the top, at least there is always room for improvement!!!!

I am looking forward to the swim as well

Cat 4.... I am guessing Category 4, but what does that mean??? what is the scale?? as for biking, i did a bike course last year and got to do a trail ride... it was muddy, wet and soggy but WHAT A RUSH!!!! Would love to give it another whirl... as for road biking... I bet that biking up those northshore mountains will certainly make me loose a few inches of my frame.

I think we should totally meet up every so often and train.... Anyone interested in going into the Buntzen Lake off road Tri in September... it is cheaper if you do it in a team of 3...

Whats it mean a team?
Like a relay?

But, that would make me need another bike.

Yeah I believe that it is a relay, but I am not sure how it works, there are teams of 2 or 3, also co-ed teams... i will send them an email and find out... i just don't know whether I am going to do the full or the half.. I am hoping that by the time September comes, i will be in good enough shape to do the full...

however, some of us or all could get together before hand and attempt to do the course... it would be good training... and buntzen in the summer is awesome

You cannot convince me to swim in Buntzen lake. We almost had Laura convinced last year, but now that she is used to swimming in Hawaii, she might not be up for it anymore.
