 2 |  Subject: ready for something newhi this seems like a great website. i have just retired from the sport of rowing which i have been doing for a while. I just lost at the olympic trials and have been excited for awhile about training for triathalons. I have been training for 3-4 hours a day for rowing for the last 3 years and I want to get into this while i'm in good shape. any advice |

). for some insight, go the main page and check out 'choosing a plan' and also 'sprint' and 'oly' you could probably start right out with the sprint program and maybe progress into the olympic this year as u prolly are in good shape. it all depends on the time and distances u want to train for and when your races are.| 2004-05-20 9:00 PM in reply to: #26242 |

Veteran 113 Greenville, SC | Subject: RE: ready for something new If you want to get an idea of times of the winners, go to trifind.com and pick a race and you will be able to see past results for that race, including split times. Triathlete magazine also tracks the top athletes and is a great source of training, gear, and other information. Sounds like you are a lot more fit than a lot of us just starting out. Good Luck. |

And, I commend you for your foresight in deciding to pick up another sport, in this case triathlon, rather than let yourself go. As for the times of olympic triathlons, I looked up a local tri and the winner came in with: 19:34 (1500m swim), 1:02:35 (40Km bike), and 39:50 (10Km run) for a time of 2:01:48. |
