It's funny how much I have changed mentally and personally since training for a half marathon and a sprint triathlon. Here's a little peek of how much has changed.
Shoes:
Then: "Oh, the newest Ferragamo boots! I love them"
Now: "Oh, I only have 477 miles left on these shoes, I can't wait until I have put 500 miles on these babies!"
Reading materials:
Then: Glamour, Vogue, Cosmopolitan
Now: Runner's World, Race Center, Triathlete
Body Image:
Then: Boy, I need to lose weight, so I can look better than anyone else!
Now: I need to be healthy and fit for my races. If I have a little pudge, so what, it will come off eventually
Makeup and Hair Regime:
Then: 15 minutes on hair and 15 minutes on makeup. Full makeup
Now: 2 seconds on hair and no makeup, unless I am going out.
Clothing Style:
Then: Perfect outfit and matching shoes belt and purse. Had to look the best at all times.
Now: Fitted t-shirt, running pants or bike shorts and a fitted t shirt. Either wearing Teva sandals or my biking or running shoes, unless we go out.
Triathlon mentality:
Then: Yea, right, I would never be active and strong enough to do one, but great for eveyone who is.
Now: I can do this and I will do this! This is my life!
