Subject: training plan typos?
tomorrow my planned workout reads 50 minutes, run hill repeats:
15 min warmup
1 x 10' up a hill
15 min cooldown

I am a little confused. First it only equals 40 minutes and I doubt I'll be able to find a hill that will take 10 minutes to get up. Any advice? Is there a typo here?

Probably a typo.  We are currently going over all the plans for typos.  For most cases, the workout is correct.

Let me know what plan you are doing and what day.

Not a typo - if you run up a hill 10' you have to get back down right? :-) So - that is your extra 10' - also - you could use a treadmill as well. Use about 4-5% grade Z3 effort.

Here's another typo (I've seen several similar ones in the olympic training plan I'm using):

Run: Raise LT
Race Specific
20
10' wu, 10' cd. 6x5' at RPE 8.5/9 w/1' recovery.

Definately over a 20' run - if I did the math right it's actually 56 minutes. I print out my calendar for a month and it's hard when I've planned for 20' and it's actually a lot more. I'm noticed this on a few bike workouts too.

Does it say the plan & day somewhere on the schedule? I think i'm using the intermediate olympic - 21 week plan. I'm not sure of the day. Today's bike isoff, as well:

Bike: Raise Bike LT
LT
30
10' wu, 10' cd. 5' hard (at RPE 8.5/9), 3' easy (zone 2). Do this 6x.

hblackmon, Mike Ricci and I are working this week to double check every workout of every plan and to make corrections to the master plans.  Usually, the workout is correct, the total time or distance can be off.  If any specific questions, you can pm him.

I found the plan you are using and will work on getting the corrections for Mike to verify today. I will let you know when the master plan is changed.

I really apologize for the inconveniance.  I will admit that I took on a little more than I could chew when we released all of these at once.

Hey Ron,

I think I can speak for just about everyone by saying don't sweat it. We all appreciate the plans you all put together and everything else that is so great here. Everyone makes a mistake or a typo.

BTW - I didn't think it was possible around here, but I actually found a damn big hill that took about 10 minutes to get up! So in essence I really didn't need to worry about the typo anyway. Thanks again for everything.

I didn't intend to come off as rude - sorry if I did. I think the plans are great and I have really appreciated having them to follow. I just thought i would point out the issues I found to help the next person who used it.

Thanks for all your hard work!!

Ok, Ricci and I have checked the following plans workout-by-workout the last few days and have made the corrections to the master plans (mostly just some total time/distance typos where the workout descriptions were unaffected):

  • Beginner Couch-to-Sprint
  • 4-7 Hour Winter Maintenance 20 Week
  • Sprint Basic 12 Week RPE
  • Sprint Basic 12 Week HR
  • Beginner Olympic 8 Week
  • Olympic Basic 12 Week RPE
  • Olympic Basic 12 Week HR

Delete the current ones and re-import for the updated changes if necessary.  We are working on the longer distance plans now.  As always, if you see any problems with what we have checked, give us the plan title and the 'day' or copy the workout to this thread.

hblackmon, you are using the Olympic Basic 12 week RPE (not the 21 week intermediate) should you want to re-import.

Will let you know when the rest are done.
