In fact, very little of the training plans would need to change (assuming you can do the mileage called for in the plans). 'Pace' runs could be done shorter, but harder (e.g., just making this workout up, instead of doing 12mi at MP, maybe you do 7 at HMP) and, as a result, you trim a few miles off of what you might do if you were marathon training. That said, I'm sure you can find lots of HM-specific plans. Most good ones will incorporate similar concepts to Pfitz. His training concepts are solid, but not revolutionary. |
