| Subject: RE: Sheila Taormina's new Book: Swim Speed Secrets for Triathletes.Ditto everything Tom said. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I don't think much of swim books, but this one changed my life, and it has detailed online stuff as well (videos and such). It is as useful and applicable for newbies as well as highly competitive swimmers. Sheila is arguably history's greatest athlete. She got that way not only by working harder than everybody else and being willing to sacrifice more, but also by breaking every sport she did (especially swimming, but all of them) down and analyzing them. She went to her first Olympics at age 28, which is relatively very late, and went on to three more! She has put the same painstaking care into now giving the fruits of her hard work to others. How do they learn? What helps them the most? How can I put it most clearly? What's most motivational? The result is that she is that rare creature who not only is a top athlete, but now a top coach and above all ... a top human being. Not many are so kind and generous. She does extensive work with charities. Honestly ... forget all the other swim books, videos, systems, coaches, etc. Buy this book FIRST ... read it ... twice ... do it ... and see what happens. |
