Hi,

Garmin-Barracuda have already had a year for the history books with the win on Canadian rider Ryder Hesjedal becoming the first Canadian to ever win the Tour of Italy.

While there have been whispers of Ryder 'doing the double' it is more likely this team will be looking for a high overall standing and stage wins..

The team includes two top 10 finishers from previous events in Tom Danielson and Christian Vande Velde as well as two top sprinters in former Tour stage winners Tyler Farrar and Robbie Hunter.

It might just seem like they are everywhere... a champion team.

Here is your line up:

Hi all!  Not a huge TdF watcher, but pay attention to what is going on every year.  Mostly here to get a good few weeks of cycling in before my first HIM on July 29th.  I'm going to go in for 12 sessions and about 300km.

Hey everybody - time to defend!!!

In between the smoke of Colorado Springs and Boulder - Fort Collins.

I am going for 21 stages and 349.7 miles (taking the 3497 KM of the race by 10% and doing the miles Tongue out)  will be stretch based on reduced activity thus far this year but should be a good kick start!

Ya, the smoke has been a problem... but 45% contained and getting better. Off for my first stage of 45 tomorrow. Maybe 60. I'm doing Boulder 70.3 Aug 5th... but the Triple Bypass will be during the challenge. Looking forward to my first TB. Trying to get my miles in. The challenge came at a great time. Can't let my team down! I am in for 9 stages at 355 miles.

Hi guys. I hope the smoke gets better for you. I am going to ride today just a bit on the trainer. I am in for 21 stages and 1 hour a stage. Here in Ohio we have not had the terrible wild fires like elsewhere but the temps have been in the 100's so it is a little warm. But we will just kick it.

Hi team. I'm in for 10 stages with 330km. I watch the Tour pretty much as much as I can. Haha. I'll be cheering on my countryman this year in the TdF and Olympics since Andy is out with a pelvic/spinal fracture from a crash at the Dauphine. Booooo. But let's go Ryder! I'm finishing up my 3rd year of medicine at the moment, 4 weeks left on pediatrics. On call for the wards this week and on emerg next week, so I should have no problems getting my Tour watching and training in! (I hope)

Hey everyone I'm AJ!  This is my first tour challenge, but I am a cycling fanatic!  I am excited to be announced on the Garmin team!  I am in for 13 session and 400 miles.

Besides helping my team members (you all are awesome!), I have a personal race against team BMC - my husband is on it (djastroman)! LOL  He doesn't think I can make my 400 miles, so "I'll show him" is in full effect! Laughing

Hello Team! My name is April and I am currently in the hot and windy (but fireless) state of Ohio. I start my move to New York during the last week of the tour so I need to get my stages in sooner rather than later. This is my 3rd time moving back to NY since 1996. I can't seem to stay away.

I am in for 10 stages and 300 miles. My first stage is in the books with a 42 mile ride this morning.

It is great to see lots of folks back from last year's team Garmin. We were great with inspiring each other on a daily basis and that helped to get us to Paris with everyone meeting their goals. So off I go to your training logs to send some inspires your way!

This is actually my second year on Garmin - we made it to Paris two years ago as well but so did lots of other teams. Before that I was on the now defunct team Agritubel. That makes this my 5th TdF challenge!

Got mine in today for 55 miles... sort of sucky miles. I had a tail wind maintaining 31 mph when I barely avoided an idiot turning in front of me saving me a trip to the ER... then it was 25 miles of 20 mph head winds. I'm so sick of the wind. Well it's off to get my swim and run in. There are a lot worse problems to have. I usually don't start watching the Tour until the second week, but I'll have to get caught up this year. Bummed Andy is not in it too. I like him.

Hello Team Garmin, I'm back to assist in the defense of our title.  I was out of town yesterday on a fishing trip but got in my first stage tonight of just over 10 miles.  I will post my goals tomorrow when I have a better chance to look at dates but know I will go to the coast again this weekend.   Peto and Bob I look forward to yalls helping shoves again this year, Breezy I will do less trainer rides this year, and Chris I look forward to the inspires and dog talk.  To to new members this year I hope to get to know each of you like I did the other's last year, Let's Have Fun And Get It Done.

Hi all, I'm Rob, back to defend our title from last year! Glad to see so many others doing the same . Unfortunately I will have limited internet access during the challenge so I won't be as active on the board this year. I'm in taper for Ironman Lake Placid, but with the big day falling on the final tour stage, I'm going for 350mi over 12 stages. Happy riding everyone!

I like the husband-wife trash talking. My money is on ecozenmama for 4 reasons:
1) she's my teammate!
2) eco = good
3) zen = good
4) mama = good...sometimes.
