I discovered him when I saw Emperor of the North, where he played a merciless railroad cop who kept Hobos off the freight trains. I can't remember who played the hobo who killed Borgnine, but I sure remember Borgnine. I was maybe nine or ten. My kids knew him has the voice of Mermaid Man from Spongebob. They are alos getting a good dose of Tim Conway as Barnacle Boy.

For year, he used to serve as Grand Marshall of our famous Circus Parade, and he'd dress like a clown to lead the wagons through the city streets on a big march to the lakefront. He was also pivotal in saving Kurt Russell in Escape From New York. Man, do I really have to tell my boys that Mermaid Man is dead? RIP, Ernest. You've earned you Krabby Patty. |
