Saw it this weekend with my son.  While not an amazing masterpiece it was pretty good.  I like the new guy a lot better than Toby Maguire.  He played a much more believable Peter Parker.  I also liked how they followed the comic books a bit more accurately (mechanical webslingers vs organic ones).

I saw it this weekend, too, and thought it was enjoyable.  I do like the new Peter Parker better, too.  Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey is MUCH better than KD as a whiney MJ.  This one is darker than the previous series.  I did miss J. Jonah Jameson, though.

OK the Emma Stone thing was a given...

I did as well.  I really wish JK Simmons had reprized the role.  He was perfect in the first series.

I saw it last night.  Still trying to process it I guess.  I REALLY like the Toby McGuire ones.  But this one was good but I don't think that I walked out of the theater thinking "that was fantastic!" like I did with the previous ones.

I'm not sure if it's the movie itself, or I'm starting to expect more and more from films in terms of visual effects.  I need more "wow" factor?

As for the female lead, I could never stand KD and Emma Stone is kinda hawt.

I kind of want to see it but I have to choose between seeing Spiderman and the new batman...and I am kind of leaning towards Batman.

Do you think it would suffer much to see it at home vs. the theater?

Nah, home theater would be fine.  Batman is going to be better based on Chris Nolan's track record.

It looks like Batman (based on the trailers) needs a big screen more than Spiderman did.  IMO.
