I read this and felt like someone thought that IM was a burden or something, so I sent an e-mail.

I received a response:
"Phil -- I did not write the headline, nor did I have the word in the story --  and I didn't like it either when I saw it.   But I will pass your message on to my editor.

Good feedback. We probably could have come up with a better word. Although it does make traffic tricky, I think we truly want to welcome the event. In last year's Inside UW, we profiled participants. Quick course update if you're riding it today.  There is a fair amount of gravel at the bottom of the Timber Lane descent where you make the sharp left turn.  I am sure it will be swept for race day, but for now be careful.

There's always someone making complaints about Immoo every year. Last year it was the noise at the swim, year before that, someone griped about the bike course and how impeded his route to church, and so on and so on.
