Two things:

1. They are seeking damages "in excess of $10,000." Normally these suits are in the millions. I think they are doing a hope-for-a-settlement cash grab.

2. The kid made it all the way from Charlotte to Boston in the wheel well of a jet airplane! He must have fallen out when the landing gear opened as they approached Boston.

I would think he was likely dead before the plane ever dropped its gear. It gets pretty cold and oxygen-sparse up yonder where the jets fly.

Following this legal argument, the families of the 9/11 terrorists should be able to sue for inadequate security measures that allowed the hijackers to commandeer aircraft and fly them into the WTC.

Sadly, he probably dropped out. There's no room for an intact human in the gear well of a 737. He'd have to be fairly small and positioned just right on the keel beam when the gear came up and down.

"The teen ran away from home ..." - hmmmm, sounds like the family should be looked into for negligence.

Parents are never at fault!!!  It has to be the governments fault.  The fence around the airport is only 8' high with a security wire on the top, but........

Maybe the airline should sue the kid (via the parents) for endangering the flight...

Maybe these people are incredibly distressed at the loss of their son and some shark has approached them with his skilled patter and convinced them in their time of emotional and rational weakness that this is an ok thing to do.

Yep, the family has nothing to do with this, and is not responsible for their actions. Obviously they are being forced by a heartless lawyer to do his bidding.

Since I have no idea how to do the sarcastic font, just use your imagination.

Yes, that's why it's important to stay in school. Oh, wait...

We just need to make Frivolous Lawsuits punishable to both the plaintiff and the lawyer. Public canning and court costs sound about right.

This is also one of my favorites:

Exactly, don't hate the players, hate the game or more specifically those who make the rules.... Now who does make the rules,,,, oh, mostly the lawyers elected to political office.

Hmmmmm, if you (general statement) don't have common sense and watch where you are going then sue. New motto.
