So I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark over the weekend & the scene where he gets dragged along under the truck reminded me of a show I saw long ago about the making of the movie and how they did that stunt & what a great stunt it was.  And it got me thinking, what is the best REAL movie stunt, actually performed by stuntmen (and stuntwomen - why are they always called stuntmen?) - NOT Tom Cruise riding a CGI explosion blast wave.  The only other one that comes to mind is Mel Gibson jumping off the building in Lethal Weapon, but only because I saw a making-of show about that too, but I know there are lots more.

The highlight reels at the end of Jackie Chan movies.  The stuff he does is mind blowing.

Lisa and I watched Haywire a couple weeks ago. The movie itself it kinda meh, but the fight scenes are awesome. The actors did all the fighting in the movie, not stunt doubles. And the lead woman is a pro MMA fighter. Lends some real cred to those scenes, and it shows in the action. Rent the DVD (or do as I did and get it from the local library) and watch the bonus features.

I friggen love watching the out takes at the end of his movies.  I also cringe on some of the older ones where he gets seriously hurt.

Stve McQueen in The Great Escape.

Not particular epic as just a stunt, but absolutely epic in that everyone knows it.
