Subject: How to crash going in a straight line Planned to do Clark Lake tri today but food poisoning put pay to that. So thought a few miles on the tri bike would be useful towards BT 700 Challenge. I alway wear gloves on the road bike and go bare handed on the tri bike (Felt S22 ).
Just hit 13 miles so about time for a drink, pulled out drinking bottle with right hand when suddenly sweaty left hand slid on the carbon bars, fell forward and went down hard on right side. Doing about 18/19 mph in a straight line! Luckily 4 riders coming the other way stopped and helped me to unclip right shoe which was still attached to pedal.
Moral of the story, always plan to wear gloves to avoid sweaty palms slipping on the bars. Photo attached. Luckily bike escaped unscathed! (Stony Creek 07-16-06.JPG) Attachments ---------------- Stony Creek 07-16-06.JPG (47KB - 11 downloads) |
