I disagree on ideological points.

This thread should not be deleted...

You know.. I've been a life long deleter. But recently I've switched my stance on the subject and have become a stong

"Save the Thread" advocate.

I think we can all agree that there are 2 sides to this issue.

Some seem to agree with the OP and others don't.

What I don't like is that no one has considered the abstract and existential side to this thread....does this thread really exist?

If mods delete our threads, only mods will have threads.

I think for the first time ever, a thread has changed somebodies opinion on the web. I was wrong.

I know see this thread does not need to be deleted. I will read this thread on the train, I will read this thread on a train. I love this thread here, I want this thread to be undeleted everywhere.

I'm just wondering how many of these oops threads you get before you're put in time out.  It not as if they keep moving to button around on you.

I have to disagree. With the new format it's really easy to accidentally create a new thread.

edit: Wow.. just saw you did this three times today PW. Itchy trigger finger?

Learning for me historically has needed a hard lesson.

For the record.... it is where the reply button used to be... and no forum on the web, at least the many I go to... has the "reply" button... INSIDE the post body. Even if it is at the bottom of the post like many in a header. It is not intuitive compared to all the rest, and the old one, for the "reply" to be where it is. And no forum on the web, has a "new thread" button, inside the thread. They keep them inside the forum itself.... to start a new thread in that forum.

That and I am a slow learner.

Of course you disagree.. someone has to! This is a political forum and if there was no dissent we would all be accused of group think.

Now someone has to disagree with me to keep it going. Of course they will be wrong but so what... this is America and they just have to.

I can see where it would be confusing.....

The big button that says "new thread"

The new screen that says "posting a new message"

The new screen that doesn't have any text in it to what you were wanting to reply to in the subject line

I have an idea--a theory, if you will.  What if Ron and the gang put the "new thread" button in the place where the "reply" button was knowing that we would accidently click it and then accidently start new threads, and then feel compelled to explain the accident, and then other people would make jokes about it, and continuing posting inthe accidental thread.

*gasp*

It's a conspiracy!

I refrained from using the word "you" as not to attack you.

But.....pretty much I was saying that.
