Crossfit is known to dedicate certain workouts to military, police and firefighters who have died in their service to honour them. Without taking anything away from these true heroes, if you had people do a workout in your name, what would it be? It doesn't have to be cross fit related.

Mine is 20x50m swim on a 2min interval, alternating between a pair of freestyle, and then a pair of breaststroke. Each of them are sprints, goal is to have the best average between each sprint. For those without pools, alternate between pairs of 200m run and 200m row.

What's yours?

Make homemade pizza for the family and drink a few craft beers. Have football on the TV, or the Tar Heels winnning the national championship but that might be getting greedy.

What I call the "quick sand" or "snowball" set. You start with a 100 on the 2:00, then 1:59, then 1:58, etc. until you cant make the interval. My best is to 1:34. It gets hard, then harder, then it's hang on for dear life. FUN!

My coach did that once. Started at 2:00, decreased by 5' until 1:30, then decreased by 1" afterward. I couldn't imagine going down by 1" from 2:00. If your best is 1:34, that means you did 26x100. Sounds painful!

I wouldn't want people doing intervals in my honor, as I detest them and consider them a necessary evil at best. Maybe a race instead. Start with a nice swim of maybe 2000-3000m at Ala Moana Beach in Honolulu. Bike optional--it's not my thing anyway. Aquathletes run up to Makiki Heights and around Tantalus--roads and/or trails. Finish on the beach. (Maybe 25-30 km? Not sure.) If anyone wants to do a tri, since I like climbing and love downhill running, they can bike to the top, leave the bike, then run down. Then have a Hawaiian-style BBQ with huli-huli chicken and the works, and plenty of tropical fruit. Probably only makes sense if you've been there. My body's resided in a lot of places, but this is where I spend a lot of time in spirit.
