Anyone done this race before and know the temperatures. I want to be sure to train for the temperature of the run. I assume the water temp is to warm for wetsuit.
No wetsuit for sure. This will be my first time doing this race, but last year I raced another HIM a couple of weeks after Miami 70.3 and the weather gets hot during the run (mid 80s ). Not brutal for people that are used to the heat and humidity and, especially, that lived in Miami during the summer (right now is incredibly hot and humid ), but some northerners complain about Miami weather for racing triathlon.
Late October, you should expect to start the swim in the mid 70s, bike starting in the high 70s and ending your bike segment in the mid 80s. Your run should be also in the mid 80s. Sometimes gets a little hotter and we can reach high 80s or maybe low 90s, but rarely. However, heat is not the only thing to account for, humidity may be even worse for people not used to it. |
