Because of the amount of weight centered on the rear wheel, and the fact that it is your "drive" wheel, rear tires will wear out much faster than front tires. Really you should rotate your tires every 500 miles or so to get even wear on them. I'm not very diligent at this, so I often end up where you are, and have often replaced the rear and not the front. I see no cons, other than aesthetics if you have to buy a different tire than what you have on the front. |
