Short run, quick few strokes in the water.
Swim
  • 28m 37s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 44s / 100 yards

Need to better rounding bouys and navigating. Greater than 90 degree turn to get around bouy and I did not make it either turn.

Comments:

Run to mount area, stop mount and go.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 1h 15m
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.88 mile/hr
Comments:

Great ride for me. Powered up hills, probably passed 40 folks out there. Rode hard downhills as well. Good in the corners, but hills were pretty tough. Felt like I had drank too much and had to pee, but never stopped to do so.
Transition 2
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

Fiddled with shoe laces. Need to try those "quik" things. Big shot of GU and on the road.
What would you do differently?:

nothing...quik lace ups.
Run
  • 53m 44s
  • 6.41 miles
  • 08m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Couldn't get the legs moving. Not a problem bike to run, just kind of dead legs. Rode too hard day before and during race.
What would you do differently?:

Train harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and had some bbq.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Did not train hard enough. Just doing an Ironman 6 weeks early does not mean you are in "peak" physical condition.

Good race report.  Was the bike course part of the IM course?

"Just doing an Ironman 6 weeks early does not mean you are in "peak" physical condition."  That always cracks me up, even though I know it's true!

Great job, I've heard this is kind of a tough course with all the hills.  I go to CdA early on the weekends to swim, but forgot that this tri was setting up early - so I didn't swim but got to watch a lot of the setup and say hi to the faces I recognized.  Same thing happened with IMCDA - I went to swim not thinking that all the IM would be out there swimming.  Duh...  It's funny, watching the setup I didn't have any pre-race nerves at all...  it's a completely different experience.  (I know, another duh).  Anyway, good job.
