Subject: RE: Anyone doing a Legend race? It's Silverback Legend, the course will be well defined on race morning, you should be prepared for anything between 3000m and 4000m. I really expect 1 course for the Oly/70/100, I don't think there are enough buoy colors to have 3 back stretches (so to speak ) within ~200m of one another. Perhaps they will have different starting corral locations, that'd be a pain too though, my bet is we all swim on a long Oly course, ~1mile. Of course, for the 2 mile swim, if you swim along the shore between first and second laps of the Oly course that could add a couple hundred meters and take you from 3000m to 2 miles, so that would only require 2 extra buoys for the backstretch of the 1.2 mile swim, maybe they would do it that way. Too many variables, just be ready to roll with the punches on race morning.
I've heard of at least 4 or 5 KC folks doing the 100 so you won't be completely alone out there.

So I'm doing the legend 100 in 2 weeks. I'm undertrained and still working off an injury but oh well. It still will be fun to complete instead of compete considering where I am. I looked at their swim map and they pretty much only have one loop. For the 70, it says it's 1.2 miles, for the Olympic is says it's 1500m, and for the Legend, it says to do 2 loops (2 miles). Little confused. I'm trying to estimate my time, since my swim fitness is still decent, but a 1500x2 swim would be a little different than two loops at 1.2 miles. Anyone else know anything?
