Thanks for sharing this. 14 years later and it's still hard to look at those images, but inspirational nonetheless. Reminds me of the attack on the summer camp in Norway when local residents were rushing out to the island on their own little dinghies and fishing boats to rush the children to safety.

Can you imagine how many untold stories there are out there on that day.

I watched the story about Welles Crowther (Red Bandanna guy) on 9/11 this year and it was very emotional.  One thing I truly love about America is no matter how much we bicker about political stuff and whatever, when the SHTF we are all brothers and sisters and pull together.

Thanks for posting that story.  14 years later and it takes next to nothing to bring the emotions flowing back.

Yup. It's my favortie thing as well. We saw it again less than a year later in NY during the blackout.

There's a funny story that Giuliani told once: He and Gov. Pataki were riding in a motorcade down to Ground Zero past a throng of cheering people. Pataki was waving to the crowd and Giuliani leaned over and said to him, "You know none of these people voted for you, right?"

The fact that we have an Immigration problem is prove positive that we, as a country, are STILL the standard bearers for people seeking out a better life.

I'm not going to derail this thread but you are having a laugh saying that.
