Subject: RE: Speed of HR returning to normal after load Everyone's physiology is different, and how quickly your HR returns to normal depends on a lot of things such as exercise intensity and duration, temperature, overall level of fatigue, general health, as well as fitness, but a drop of 30+ BPM in one minute to me suggests a pretty strong level of fitness. I know my coach asks me to check this after an FTP test on the bike--the drop is similar for me when I'm in good bike shape and I haven't gotten overheated. It will drop more slowly in hot weather, after a longer, intense workout or race, if I'm carrying a lot of cumulative fatigue, or, of course, if I'm less fit. Edited by Hot Runner 2018-04-19 6:10 PM
