I am really happy with this. It is not close to a PB but an excellent effort given lacklustre training. I was going to take it easy for the first half and then see what I could do in the second half and then Darren (my husband) said just to give it a go. And i thought about it and just put it out there. I was thinking that 58 mins would be good - i honestly haven't seen sub 6-minute kms for a while so i didn't want to push it but why not?

Anyway, set out just behind the 55 minute pace elf. And was able to stay with him and then get in front of him. I held it came in under 54 minutes!

Super foggy morning. Very erethreal to run in.

Train better?

Went to grab some post race food, found my family and we went to the finish line to see my sisters finish.


I like this race a lot. The course isn't the most exciting but it allows me to really test my fitness - it's also a time of year where it is not going to be too hot. It also means it is a pretty competitive crowd.

Really good event - the Beaches Running Club does a great job.
