Since all the Aussies seem to be busy watching cricket, I thought I'd give your post a bump.

When I visited Sydney in 1992, there was a plethora of great restaurants.  I don't know about the Summit, but I am sure your parents will have a blast.

Hey Sappho,

I haven't been to that resturant.
But there is a revolving resturant on the Sydney Tower (Sydney Landmark).
And I can vouch for that one "it is the business" <--- means its good

I haven't been to that one but usually recommend either Rock Pool (Neil Perry's restuarant in the Rocks), Tetsuya's or Wolfies down on the waterfront.

I just saw this...if they are meat eaters then Wolfies is awesome for a steak!

Wolfies I don't know (doesn't sound appetising to a vegetarian!) but Rockpool & Tetsuya's always get written up, down here in Melbourne. Definitely on the list of places I'd like to eat.

I haven't eaten there but I second the Rockpool - the food is fantastic.  The Summit might also be great but also look into the Centerpoint Tower restaurant - revolving restaurant but higher up!!

There are so many great restaurants in Sydney now (especially after the Olympics) - the choice is endless.

One of my favorites is Bathers Pavilion on Balmoral for the view (great coffee).  Bondi Tratt for breakfast, Oxford Street for shopping.

 Wow, I miss Sydney ...

I just got back from Sydney and although I can't vouche for that particular restaurant, we didn't eat at a bad place.

Any restaurant by the Rocks area is good.  That's to the left of the opera house and to the right of the bridge.  Hope that helps!
