I was right there with you! What a great idea! A nice pint of beer and some stories from the old days at Kona!

Great minds... I jumped to this thread immediately looking for the best tri 'rita in town. How disappointing.

While I feel I bring a lot of expertise to the table in terms of drinking establishments, I can't weigh in on edible bars. I believe they all taste the same, more or less. Perhaps I should try eating one of those bars AT a bar, washed down with a margarita? I bet that would help considerably.

Sorry for posting a serious post in this.

I eat mainly Luna bars, although I am also partial to Clif bars.  I have an almond allergy, which is a big problem when trying to find an energy bar.  Clif products are good about labeling what they contain allergen wise (without having to read through all of the ingredients).  There's also all the warnings like "This has been processed on equipment that also processed tree nuts and peanuts".  I've had problems with reactions because of processing on the equipment with other brands, but not Clif.

What, are margaritas the chosen drink of triathletes? Get some fruit with your alcohol, and that's good for your nutrition plan? I didn't know that.

Beer=carb loading?

LOL... I really can't argue with your logic... I think I might have to change my entire plan now. I feel certain more beer will help with my endurance.

You're a peach; I'm a huge 'rita fan, too.

Sorry this thread is all about lunas and clifs...if anyone's ever in Cambridge, MA, I can take you out to a 'triathlete's bar'.  We'll just stride on up to the bartender and say "hey, we're triathletes and we need a round of 'ritas -- make 'em gold, on the rox, with salt since you know, we're electrolyte-depleted'.

Any bar becomes a triathlon bar when you utter those word!

Yum, yum, yum!!!! Had a prickly pear margarita (or maybe two... or three.. or...) in AZ once... clearly etched in my memory! Now, do you have those 'ritas at a triathlete bar?
