Swim
Comments: Jumped into pool and went @#%*!! thats deep. Transition 1
Comments: First transition is bike to swim...no space on rack for the bike; set it down on the end and dumped my stuff. Walked most of transition; pavement and gravel a bit hard on the feet. Bike
Comments: Two riders passed me on a turn almost causing a crash. Another rider was reportedly not paying attention and crashed into my back tire while on one of the climbs. What would you do differently?: Gotta work the hills more. Transition 2
Comments: Swim to run. The Mrs. exited the pool right after I did, so I waited for her. Run
Comments: Left the Mrs. behind. Kept at a comfortable pace. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Lighter, faster bike. Maybe more hills and speedplay during training might help on bike and run. Times were slower than my previous TRI of the same distance in May. I'm sure the hills and altitude were factors, and I suspect my races in Vegas earlier in the month May have slowed me down as well. Event comments: Course was a BIKE - SWIM - RUN, so above listings are a little out of order. This was my wife's first TRI. She did awesome and is definately hooked. Last updated: 2004-08-18 12:00 AM

Drove up the night before. Found the race sight. Checked over the bikes. Tried to sleep, but didn't have much luck. Read a chapter from "It's not about the Bike."
Race day: Breakfast of Bagels and cream cheese and fruit.
