Seems I saw a post within the last month or two on this subject but can't find it again.

I'm looking for a site that contains a compilation of racers and races of basically any sort of race - run, bike, tri etc...

For marathoners:

www.MarathonGuide.com

MarathonGuide keeps a list of your marathon times. It is compiled automatically from the results posted on the race website. If you go there, you can search your results as well as anyone else.

The only caveat with this is that MarathonGuide pulls the times when the results are posted. If your time gets corrected later, you will probably want to also submit a correction to MarathonGuide. (They typically do not pull updates)

And wouldn't ya know it?!? Athlinks' site is down due to maintenance for a couple of hours. Oh well, glad I found it anyhow.
