Like I always answer to people around me who wonder why I take time to go on my virtual running club and on BT, I always reply that it's about being around (at least virtually) like-minded people.
For a guy that trains alone like me, it's crucial!
Bryan, Bryan, Bryan. You have just set yourself up perfectly.....
It's easy to find people to train with virtually. And compete with virtually. And it makes you feel SO much less like you're training alone.... And it's very simple to do:
It's called a CHALLENGE!
Yes, Bryan. You have just told us all exactly why YOU should join this month's RUN CHALLENGE!
You'll set a goal and be assigned to a team.
(Or you can request a team.
) There, you will get support from your teammates. You will also GIVE encouragment to your team. On occasion, you will have to deal with smack talk from competing teams.
(Ignoring it works, too.
) But most of all, you will HAVE to run, run, run. Because if you don't, you will have to answer to your team.
(Nothing like peer pressure.
)
OK then. So here's your challenge. Join the Challenge.
(Remember how I said that now that you're here, you aren't allowed to leave? Well, you've ventured into the Challenge Forum. And forever here, you shall remain.... Muhahahaha!....
)
