Subject: Equation for optimum # of strokes
This weekend there was a booth set up at the US Open Tri. They would measure your wing span from wrist to wrist, input the number into the computer and voilla! They would tell you the optimum number of strokes for the length of pool you were using. When I asked what the equation was, the guy just mumbled it's in the computer.

Anyone ever heard of this? Anyone know the equation?

I swam competitively all my life and I've never heard of an equation.

Keep your stroke long....roll your shoulders.....that's it.

I have not heard of this either but imagine it gives you a general idea. I don't think it could take into account such things as if you have a 2, 4 or 6 beat kick, how far you get off each wall, etc.
