Expert 784 Computerland | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge Hi! I guess I am on your team My goals: swimming:22 hours bicycling: 4 hours running: 4 hours I've been in the February challange before and loved it, so this one will certainly be just as inspiring. P.S. My computer won't let me acess the spreadsheet so would it be okay if I didn't have to enter anything in it? |

Master 1289 Franklin, TN | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge I'm off the DL and back among the living. Antibiotics kicked in this afternoon after another 1.5 hour nap. Got a core workout done after getting up. Now to get the yard done as I'll be gone tomorrow and back Sunday. I should be able to race just fine tomorrow morning. I'm only down a short run and one workout. Long run Sunday upon return. I can get those caught up next week, not a problem. Helllooooooooo, captian - My spreadsheet didn't have my strength time, so I added it. It is the same amount as ChicagoMan above me on the sheet, 230 minutes. It didn't calculate my percentage. Is there a formula that should be in there? Have a great weekend everyone!

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge sesh - 2008-05-02 9:02 AM Allrighty then, it seems like some people are jumping in! Welcome to everyone who's just been added. I'm severly html challenged, but I will work on a nice little team box with everyone in it, as well as a link to the spreadsheet that you can post on your blog. That may not be done till Sunday, though. In the meantime, a link to the spread sheet is in the very first post of this thread, which in tinkerbeth time is like ten minutes ago. Basic rules: 1. You only have to update before midnight of Sunday each week. Except for this Sunday. Week 1 is ten days long. It's not a bad idea to do it as you go, though. I'll do my best to keep tabs on everybody and make sure we've all got it down. If you can't figure out (I couldn't for a while), then I'll be glad to update it for you. 2. Your totals should come straight off your logs, so keep those up. It's really the only way the challenge masters have of verifying that you really did the work. 3. Don't be scared to post away in the thread. Beth will put you on a course to hit 5,000 posts by the end of the week if you're truly dedicated. A chatty team is a happy team, a happy team is a training team, and a training team is a winning team. 4. We win or the cattle prod comes out. 5. The important rules are 1 and 2. The other rules just make it more fun. Oh yeah, for those of you who jumped in late, Beth and Barb voted me team captain, though Barb is reconsidering since I'm making her do her own biking this month. Two votes isn't exactly a majority, but if there are no objections, I'll gladly do it. I'm sitting this challenge out because the dreaded taper is on the horizon and it's really hard to estimate my times and distances, but I figured I'd stick around and cheer. I'm addicted to these things anyway, so it's not like I could go cold turkey for a month. In all her internet power, Beth has coined us "Stuck in the Middle With You." Thoughts? Like or no? We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major.... Any Holy Grail fans out there??? In all seriousness, have fun out there. We're all here to help each other with the main goal of being better at the end of the month than we are right now. TRAIN HARD. Your Cheertator (that's for you Barb), sesh Nicely done ps you can always borrow a whip from mila or dee if needed |

Master 1817 Lafayette, IN | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge Okay - I survived the week from hell! Now I'm spending my work night being a big slacker and catching up on all the posts on this thread. I can see that my free time will be redirected from school to keeping up with Beth's chatter! I do think I'm going to like this group - there have already been references to Reservoir Dogs, Bring It On, and Monty Python. Most definitely my kind of crowd! ANYHOW...I finally got a chance to sit down and work up some goals for the month. If I stick to the training plan I should put in 7 hrs running, 13 hrs on the bike, and 15,000 yds swimming. Probably a little low on the swimming estimate, but I'll bump it up if I need to. Those are some big bike numbers for me. The past two challenges I was at 8 hours biking and just managed to eek it out. I guess my motto for the month is: I love the bike, I love the bike, I love the bike! |

That's peep high art right there. Peeps and cotten balls in a jar on a shelf. Colorful, sugary goodness set against a stark colorless background. I think the artist was trying to say, "Have a peep. That much sugar is sure to brighten your day!" I do suppose it's time to update the avatar. Now that it's May I don't have to be marshmallowy anymore! Edited by esc 2008-05-02 10:47 PM |
