Well I am not happy about weight.

I am at 160 Up 2.3 from last week.  However, It is 20 days with no ciggies and my pants still are fitting good so who knows.  Okay I know that eventually this extra 10 lbs is going to hurt,  but I will start working on that shortly.  Work on cigs first and then attack the gain.  Hell of a leader huh?  Gaining weight in a weight loss forum.....geeeesh!

I'm contemplating entering a super sprint at the end of this year (the last one i can find in the season) as my first attempt. What do you guys think? The race i'm looking at is the super sprint on http://www.tattontriathlon.co.uk/index.htm

iguess my main question is 6 months enough time to prepare  ?

That is a very difficult question to answer because it'd be different for every person here. I think you should answer these questions first:
1. what is your level of fitness now?
2. can you do those distancs separately (i.e swim that much, run that much etc.)?
3. would you be able to do twice as much after six months of training without pushing yourself over the limits?

If you can honestly answer yes to questions 2 and 3 then I think you should be ready but it's just my personal opinion - you need to listne to your own body. Also even if you signed up and on the day you have doubts whether you're actually ready for it then simply skip it becasue that's the easiest way to get injured or lose motivation.

Grrr....

2 weeks ago 157.6
Last week 157.8
This week 158.6

I do believe I AM GOING THE WRONG WAY!!!!! This is so frustrating!!!!! I am at my wits end as to what the heck I am supposed to do!!! Sigh...what this doesnt show is that between Wednesday weighings, I actually went up to 160.8..and now I am back down from that. I swear, I log every single thing I eat, every single darn day..I am well within my calorie range, as well as my carb, protein, fat range. I am now working out 5-6 days a week religiously. argh!!!

On the upside, I have been told by three different people that I am "shrinking" and also my workouts are finally coming together. I am doing more with a lower heart rate, I can now bilateral breathe when I am swimming, and this weekend looks like I will actually get to go biking OUTSIDE. So there are things going right (thank goodness) which are keeping me somewhat sane. Now I just want the numbers on the scale to go down!!

Regardless of whether I am shrinking or not, being 160 is still really hard on my frame (I am only 5'4") and my breathing (I have asthma). This in turn is then a limiting factor for faster running so I can only run fast to a certain point before the extra load causes constriction and I have to slow down. I know if I weighed just a little bit less, I would be able to do so much more! I will get to the 40s dangit!!! I will !!!!!!

well

I would say level of fitness is pretty low. I'm working on CV stuff most days at the gym in an attempt to improve my fitness, and it is getting noticeable when i'm playing football(soccer)/hockey. Muscular wise i'm pretty strong in the legs , however am trying ot improve my arms and shoulders as the cricket season starts to come in now. (I train once a week at cricket with a team)

Re  2

I  can definately do the swim, and part of my CV training at the moment is a 10 mile (16k) bike ride which takes me around 40-45 minutes(well, used to before i had to decommision my bike, takes a bit longer on the gym cycle machines). The only problem is running . I 've always had problems running because of my size it puts so much pressure on my knees.

to 3 I'm not sure. It really depends on whether i can shift the lb's

btw

Happy St Paddys day yesterday, went to an Irish Social club here and was really fun

You're doing very well then! My advice is: see how it goes. Keep that option open as long as you can. If you have to sign up fairly soon do so if you can and then see how it goes. Also try to start training outside as much as you can.

I went to my kinda local pub last night but it was soooooooo packed that I gave up after about an hour and a half. Still, managed to catch quite a good band playing so can't complain. I must say though college seems a bit empty today

Well I am excited and confused. The scale this morning was temperamental. Before I took a shower it said one number and after I took a shower it said a lower number. Apparently I was very dirty and washed off about a pound of dirt. My numbers for today are 167.8 which is 3.2 lbs down from the 171 lbs I started with but my BF% is 32% which is 1% lower than where I started but .7% up from what the scale said last week and I weigh less this week so either my scale is confused or something strange is going on. But at least it all the numbers are going down which is a good thing. Just 2.8 more lbs to go to meet my goal for the month.

Looks like I've been out of commission for the most part of March.  Finally coming out of my funk.  I think since the weather is finally nicer.

Weighing in this week at 167.

Yeah doing my PhD in Applied Languages in Limerick. Unfortunately we don't have half days here - i'm afraid the reason for it was simply a national hangover What are you studying? You look awfully young in that picture!

I am down 2 pounds this week! Awesome! How'd that happen? I was wondering if I'd gained.

AND, I'm now only 7 pounds from my 10% Weight Watchers goal. Amazing. At the beginning of the year, I thought it was inconceivable to even hit that 10%.

Been really busy, haven't had time to weigh-in... So I figure, I'd better get it done before I head out for the evening (Mom and I have a date with a movie theater). We're going to go see Watchmen. I hear it's really good. And based on how I've been eating lately, no popcorn for me! Anywho, weight (on Wed) was 190.4. Probably a few lbs heavier since I wasn't eating very much when I took the measurement, and I've binged a few times since then... Mostly ribs, pizza, been drinking soda like it's going out of style. But I have been drinking tons of water too, so that's kind of weird, not a total loss. Just need to realize that I have to get back to normalcy before it's too late! Congrats to all that have lost, and welcome to any new comers.

I don't know... Keep reassuring us that she's not real???

Movie nights have a total exemption from any kind of diet So how was Watchmen? I wanted to see it this weekend but sombody here told me it wasn't very good.

It was ok, if you're into that sort of thing. What was most disappointing was the sex, and other porn related issues in the film. That sort of stuff just isn't appealing to me. Then there was the issue that it sort of dragged on, and on, and on... If I were you, I'd wait. Now the new Harry Potter flick... Can't wait for that to come out (half-blood prince). Mom and I have a standing date to see it (books were good too).

That's what my friends over here said- that it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long and not much was happening. The male part of the group, however, admired (and I'm trying to be diplomatic here) a girl all dressed in spandex. And how are regular mortals supposed to compete with that?
