I won't know my goal for October until tomorrow night.  It all depends on if I can get my last run done for September.  I had to have my old kitty cat put to sleep today so I bagged todays workout.  I'm really sad.  I'm having wine for dinner.   Anyone want to join me in a toast to my happily resting kitty?

Tracy, so sorry about your kitty.  Will have a toast in his/her honor tonight.  I have one that is almost 20 yrs old and know I'll cry like a baby when the day comes.

20 years old! in real life???? mine lived almost 18 years and recently passed!

I thought she had a super long life! at age 15-16 she got sick and would not eat...was getting really skinny...and then my mom told me to feed her baby food!!!!??  I swear she lived and extra year or two on baby food...we would mix baby rice with a little bit of meat from a baby jar...she went from skinny with a dull coat to fat with a glowing coat and lived another two or so years because of this mix.

Jackson will be 20 years old in January.  He is a siamese and can be reaaallly vocal.  I've had him since he was 8wks old.  He looks terrific.  I have to give him meds daily for high blood pressure and thyroid disease, but you'd never know it watching him give my other cat he11.  And, he can eat Whiska's Temptations like a cat twice his size.  I swear it should be named Cat Crack.

ilucy2 - 2009-09-26 9:46 AM Wow it looks like we got a CHATTTTER!! I am Kendra and I just finished a 10k, it was going to be a 1/2, but did not have enough time. I am done for the season. It was my plan to rest for Oct, but....a run challenge. I am working on speed work, short distances, but more times a week.

Hi Kendra!  It's great to be on a team with you again!

I'm jealous Neal.  Are you getting chatty with another "Kendra"?  LOL
We can have a lot of fun if we had the same avatar.  Then you would really have to figure out which one of us was chatting with ya.

LOL!  Are you sure you weren't supposed to be on the eeeviiiiiil team?

I did good today.  Not only did I get the fire going (finally), but I got back after 4 hours and it was still glowing.  WooHoo!  Not freezing today.

And we're up to 48 degrees.  Balmy!

DEBBIE.  i started out on a hybrid bike as well.  there are days/rides when i actually miss it.

what kinda of road bike did you get?

i got a Jamis Xenith Comp, thanks to a 'tip' by mr. wgraves who i will indebted to for life.  mwah!
stacieb

I got a 20 year old Schwinn roadie from a garage sale!  (Stepping up, I know.)  Hubby has been fixing it up for me.  Got new brake cables last weekend, so now I'll be able to stop.  Laughing

It's not fancy, but it's lighter than the hybrid.  If I keep saving my pennies, I'll be able to get one of those new-fangled super-fast bikes someday.  (Of course, if I keep spending my pennies on races...)

I just found a du in October that's not too far from me.  It might get race-tested soon!  (Plus I have some good incentive to run.)

DEBBIE.  new fangled, HA!

i spent a pretty penny on my bike.  [ask WGRAVES he knows how much i COULD have spent]

my friend got a Schwinn for free from his friends garage.  and he's beat the pants off me in the tri we did together.

you'll be super fly fast whatever you ride!

ooops.

i forgot.

my 1/2 is NOVEMBER 1st.

so it wont count toward my run goals for this month/October.

that makes my goal this month 62 miles NOT 75.

gonna go and make the change now.
