So winter has finally arrived here in Boston and I am thoroughly a wimp now.   I opted for the gym yesterday and rode the trainer today.  I will have to rework my schedule to get me outdoors for those CWWC points.

wgraves7582 - 2009-12-08 8:24 AM I just wish I could run longer right now.  These 1.25 mile runs are not enough time in the crap to score some good points.

Hopefully get some snowbiking in this week if the forecast holds!

We took the cyclocross bikes out on the snowy roads today -- it's going to take me a while to get used to my back tire sliding around.  3* and snowing

Hope it's a lot warmer for my duathlon this weekend!!

We're finally getting awesome cold weather here in WI with lots of snow and I thought it would be a good idea to go to Vegas, run a half, and develop a nice case of plantar fasciitis Here's hoping for a quick recover!

Brewer & I got a 75 minute run this morning during our blizzard. Since the schools were closed and didn't have to work had time for a longer run. 6-8" of snow already on the ground and 12" drifts and none of the sidewalks cleared off made for a fun run.

Oh no!  Stretch lots and hopefully you'll recover quickly.

edit to add:  I hope our weather is moving east because it's too cold for training outside for me.  It warmed up to -6 by the time I headed to work at 9 this morning.

I need to tally up my points for December as I've been getting some great crappy weather training in.  Here is my example from this morning.  I did two 4 mile runs (to and from an appointment) and here are the Wunderground weather data.  First run average temp was -5.4 and the second was 5.6 degrees.  My nose hasn't forgiven me yet--it hurts.

Sorry about your father Sarah.  Hope your family is holding up ok!

I'm happy to see that temps will be in the high 40s this weekend in Denver basin   Race should be very tolerable tomorrow morning.

I am wondering what purpose was served by my 95 minute 12.5 k trudge through the snowy desolate wasteland that we call Calgary.

Big winds on our ride today but temps were in the 40s so no CWWC points.  Lots of mental fortitude points tho.  And now it's snowing

Just signed up for the challenge. Glad to see the weathersuckage has gone all interwebs. Hopefully doing 100 runs in 100 days, regardless of weather.

Let's see how that stacks up.

Went for a 3 hour hike on Sunday.  Probably picked up some points because it was cold and windy but alas when I went to weather underground today, it wouldn't show me what Sunday's weather was.  I was too tired on Sunday to look and too busy on Monday.

Ok, yesterday I updated my points into the challenge spreadsheet - and ended up 'owning' the documents, whatever that means. Perhaps I need a google docs coach, or we need to not let the rookie update the spreadsheet.

Anyway, four questions on the point-tracking spreadsheet:

1. Does the spreadsheet still work?  Hope I didn't hose anything up.

2. Should we be updating the spreadsheet with our points, or sending them to someone on a given basis?

2a. If we are supposed to be updating the spreadsheet ourselves, is there a concise set of steps for the update? (something that doesn't result in me owning all the spreadsheets).

3. Is there a way to take a copy of the spreadsheet locally - or better yet, Bill, do you have an XLS copy of the spreadsheet that you could send me?

Thanks for helping me not hurt myself in the future.

I did that last year, made it with over 100 runs in 100 days. Not going to try it this year, I think it effected the quality of my runs. Good Luck!

Agreed...I'm likely to get 90 out of the hundred - I'm assuming life or cocktails will get in the way of at least 10 workouts.  I also plan on doubling up one day a week (once I'm back in shape) to create an 'extra' workout so that I can take days off here an there. That should create about 20 days off over the 100 days.

Mix in a couple easy runs here and there, and I'm hoping it'll be just right...lots of volume, and no burnout.
