Sounds like Richmond too.  Not a big fan.  I'm so cold.  And Griffin cat tore the window insulation stuff in the living room so I keep getting a draft down my back when I sit on the couch. 

1) Use clippers to shave cat.
2) Spin cat hair into yarn.
3) Knit yourself a sweater.
Then, the kitty will be cold, but you won't be.

Poor kitty. Good thing it doesn't live here. LOL

Then again, I have the heat turned WAYYYY up, in anticipation of losing power tonight. So maybe the kitty would like it here. It's *toasty warm.*

You joke, but people make yarn out of their pet hair.  I think it's kind of icky personally.

It's only 68 in our house.  I usually have a blanket sitting on the couch.  Apparently that makes me a good person to hang out with if you're a cat.

Okay, here is my traveling saga. Original flight was scheduled for noon on Sunday to arrive in ATL by 7pm. Saturday night after playing PowerGrid, we decided to print out our boarding passes. Got on the computer to see our flight was cancelled. WTF!!! No phone call or emails letting us know this. Our itinary showed that they had rescheduled us to a red eye flight on Tuesday night with two layovers prior to getting to ATL on Wednesday (3 days later than our original flight). So, hubby got on the phone with the airline, and I got on another phone to try to find a car company that would pick us up and take us to the airport (we would have to get up 4 sleeping grandchildren, put them in a cold car in the middle of the night unless we could find either another driver or a babysitter.) because it is now 12:30 am Sunday morning. We found a wonderful friend of my daughters who came over to be in the house with the kids while our daughter drove us to the airport (2.5 hour round trip for her). We got ourselves onto a 5:30am flight to Detroit, with a 2 hour layover, then a flight to ATL. We got in only about 30 minutes earlier than our original flight would have gotten in. Why the heck did the airlines cancel flights in anticipation of a snow storm so far out? Our original flight would have made it in NO PROBLEM. In fact the snow did not start until about 10pm. We would have landed at 7pm. The really sad part of the story is that when the kids went to bed, we did not say goodnight to them for we thought we would still have the morning with them. Instead we sneak out in the middle of the night with no goodbyes. I'm so sad about that. And now we are snowed in and get to have another day of vacation, courtesy of the snow. Yeah! Oh, and in case you did not figure it out, I went with no sleep from 6am on Saturday morning until 9pm Sunday night.

That is strange!  I'm glad you made it home safely, though.  The news reports this morning made it sound really bad.

I knew there was a reason I haven't flown lately. And there it is ^^^^. I don't want to deal with this stuff, so I just drive everywhere!

Glad you made it home, even if it wasn't at the intended time.

I'm thinking that if we show up on Yanti's doorstep with a caseload of Poptarts, she'll let us in for awhile. LOL

Not an option in the office.  Although I think we figured out how to trick the thermostat: we're going to put a wet paper towel over the area it senses temperature so it thinks it is too cold and turns on the heat.  I'm really hoping that works.

I'll bring a suitcase full of PopTarts and offer to take care of her cats.  I'm sure she'll let me stay then.

Are you near where all the flooding is from the rain?

Well, planes started taking off today from ATL.  I'll check to see when I can catch one to Down Under.

Thanks goodness no.... we have had a lot of rain here but not like that...

Its been really strange as people are constantly talking about it, its wall to wall in the media and because of the threat of more problems so much is still unknown....

To put it in perspective this is like something bigger than Texas just getting washed out... our third largest city has been mass evacuated in many areas, sand bagged and 50% of homes are currently without power with no decision yet made on when it might be back... its 75% of the state and its impact is going to be huge as this is a major supplier of Fruit and Vege etc for the country...

Its really strange...
