Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge I just realized--if it's my birthday, then it's the Lord of Vice's birthday, too. To the minute, cosmic twins that we are. Ugh. I suppose I should invite him to my little birthday gathering, but ... but ... Well, he is a lovely piglet ... He is everything I would be if I let myself slide over into the Dark Side. But he does have a beautiful son who is his salvation. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge I did a nice easy paced ride today. If I felt my legs tighten up I backed down on gearing and cadence to let it ease. I miss going fast.....but my focus right now is just enjoying what I can do. Once these legs are fully recovered (as in no pain) I can think about intensity again. For now, I am content to be a recreational athlete. |

COLD, and very very windy, but a good day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YANTI!!!!! ;-)

I realised I used to eat them ALL the time but I haven't had one for 3-4 months now because the floods meant ruined crops (we don't import) and prices have been at least $12 a kilo all year which I refuse to pay. I'm sad, I like bananas. Just had to share - that is all! I find if I don't eat a banana every 2 days or so, I get REALLY bad foot/calf cramps ... my body needs the potassium. Also if I go more than 3-4 days, I get lock jaw. Bananas are a necessity in my world!
Hmmm, I have been getting more cramps than usual lately - maybe thats the reason. Guess I better find another potassium source! Ahem. MELONS. Just another important lil bit of trivia ... ha ha TOO funny! |

I live in Canada. Melons are hard to come by during the ice and snow months. ;-) Yes dear but Rachel can't afford bananas right now. I can't believe Dogbait is in my lap, pressing hard and very loudly demanding to be cuddled. This is the cat that used to shriek and run if you so much as held a hand out ... and wouldn't come down from the rafters ... Your love conquers all, dear Yanti. And as for Rachel - that is correct she is on the other side of the globe. Maybe I can send her bananas and she can send me melons? Indeed - sounds like a plan! We have more than enough melons to go around over here

Veteran 392 Calgary | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge So yes, I HTFU'd and went to the race. Glad I did, if only because my friend doing her first triathlon had SO much fun (despite the terrible weather) and had the hugest smile on her face when she was done ... this time last year she was fighting cancer and not sure she was going to make it ... I am SO proud of her! I caught her saying "I think for my next one ..." ... heehee. Her next one. It was supposed to be sunny and 18 - it was not. It was VERY windy (40-60KM gusts, they couldn't keep the announcers tent down and all of the mats through transition blew away) which made it VERY cold when you are wet. It was 10 degrees if we were lucky ... likely colder. I've never ridden a bike in conditions like that, I had to lean far to one side just to stay on my bike and fighting the headwind was wicked. My legs were numb. But I still passed a lot of people! Woot for me! I'm happy ... I enjoyed myself, and it was exactly what I needed to motivate me and get me ramped up for my races coming up in July and August. Thanks Crushers for encouraging me!!!

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge Yanti - Happy birthday!! QZ - Happy anniversary!! TR - Congrats on your race! I just back from a long, crazy weekend in Buffalo. Lots of family time which was great. The big events were a bridal shower for my soon to be SIL on Saturday and a 60th birthday brunch for my Dad today. I did get one run in and am waiting for hubby to come up from the basement so I can get a bike ride in tonight. Lots of unpacking to do but will get caught up later! |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge TriAya - 2011-05-15 1:02 PM IT'S MAH BURFDAY!!!!! holy carp, I can't believe I made it this far. Heck, there were times this last year I wasn't sure I was going to make it to today ... last year I was depressed, I didn't want a birthday or any fuss at all, so of course I got four parties This year I'm just so happy to be alive and not deathly ill, incredibly grateful for everything, and quite happy to make a fuss of my birthday, if just a little. Not up to any big parties or anything, but some of the nearest and dearest will gather at one of my happy place restaurants (a simple affair, but there's lots of weird animals running around the place--monkeys, cats that do tricks, hornbills, other exotic birds, the requisite lazy street dog or two sleeping under the tables and begging for bits if they feel up to it) ... Oh and for the record I am Aw, gee, shucks, what's that you say? I don't act my age at all? Well, one has to preserve one's youth somehow

Then I will go to my restorative yoga class and lay on the floor, almost asleep, while the yoga teacher walks us through some yummy-feeling poses meant to renew my recovering body and mind. Does that sound like a good morning to you? |
