Got a Garmin 405 for X-mas from my mom and I love it!  Really fun to run with and track my pace vs my goal pace as a go.  Did a 6+ miler yesterday and another one today.  My goal today was to beat yesterday's pace of 9:17/mile and I did by a long shot: 9:02/mile.  Tomorrow I plan on running the same route and shooting for sub 9:00!

Hope you guys are all doing awesome and enjoying the holidays with your families... and of course some training!

Got in a 6 mile run this morning then hit the malls and then worked in 50 minutes of p90x2.  I love taking time off work!  I head down to ft. lauderdale tomorrow for about a week, so i've got some beach runs in my future!

Hope everyone has been having a good week!

Training plan called for a 10K race today. Instead I did a 3 mile warm up run with Brewer, then set out for a 3 mile tempo run. First 2 miles were at 9 min pace, then the calf cramped up again. Guess I better keep it slow till after my marathon weekend.

Supposed to do 16 miles tomorrow, guess we will see how it goes.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy Christmasca. I made it to the gym and banged out a 3.5 run, 20 min on the stationary bike, and 1200 in the pool. Thank God the back is feeling better. I hope all of y'all have a blessed and safe Holliday. Merry Christmas to all and to all good night.

So, how's everybody's training going?  Happily for me, despite being out of town I have managed to run and or swim consistently.  Unfortunately, I also managed to eat all the junk that I never eat when I'm at home!  Hope you all are doing a better job

You an me both, brother.  I think I ate over 2000 calories at breakfast alone on Christmas day.  It was like a feeding frenzy!

Anyways, back to training today.  Completed my longest run of my life: 20+ miles!  Felt really good on almost the entire run and now feel like I am completely marathon ready.  I totally could have kept going at the end of my run!

Let the taper begin!

Hope you all are doing well!

Congrats - 20 miles is a big milestone (he he) and feeling great at the end is huge.  You are going to do super at the marathon - just don't let taper madness take over

I am off to try to get in a 4-5 miler.  Hopefully, my calf will cooperate.

Just updating my training logs this morning and I see I broke 2000 running miles for 2011. Don't think I have ever done that much in one year. When I was in my 20's I would put in 60 mile weeks but didn't do as much running after my fall marathon.

Next stop 3000? I don't think so!

Haven't done much since last Thursday, goofy weather, closed pool, and Christmas stuff made it way too easy to slack off. Back at it today in SOME capacity... We got snow and I'm ill equiped for snow running. Maybe a light treadmill run and some cardio heavy strength training? keep it up guys, Imma get back at it!

So does anyone have a New Years resolutions for next year?

I think I am going to do the weight thing this year. Over the last few year my weight has started to inch up again, last time I weighed in I was at 180. I want to try and get back down to 170, so that is my goal. Just don't tell my wife, she tells me I am too skinny.

Happy tapering, guys! Enjoy the power up time.

My resolutions for the new year:
1. Lose the dang baby weight of 15 unneeded lbs. (The baby is no longer a baby at almost 6, you know?)

2.  Get to bed earlier, especially while my husband is gone, so that I'm not dragging and crabby by 3pm. That would mean.. dun dun dun... missing my 2am soccer games and doing most of my workouts in the morning. AAAHHH!

Those are the two that I've been putting a lot of thought to already.

Ok another ski or should I say snowboard day. WOW, my knees are letting me know I only do this once a year if I'm lucky. If my legs are not killing me too bad I'm going to try and get a run in tomorrow. On the new years res I too am hoping to loose weight- yes very original. Ha. My main goal is to better my ave speed with better consistency. For you lance fan, I bumped into him when I was getting my kid-yes, I had to be the crazy guy with a camera(iPhone). I apologized interrupting his family time but had to do it. I will try and post it but have never had luck posting a pic from my phone. Yes, I went old school with an oilers hat; yes, I look like a Neanderthal next to him. I'm not sure if I can get out of the clydesdale category.

Back at it today after my "vacation"... Short easy swim today, didn't really track yardage, probably right at or just under a mile. Stroke work and drills with a timed 400 at the end. Even after all the crap I ate this past week (including McD's last night... Ugh) and zero training still managed a 5:48! Quick two mile run to shake out the cob webs after. I must have had a blister, under a callous on the ball of my right foot... 5 days of no running and the callous completely came off after the swim??? Weird... Happy hump day my friends!

4.5 mile run today, I think I need to re route my medium run route. About 3.5 in there is a stretch of side walk with a camber to it... Got home today to a sore IT band :-( lotsa stretching... Hopefully it loosens up soon.

I can't stand the crooked paths, several of the roads in the local park are somewhat crooked to say the least.  After completing some of my runs I still feel like I am leaning, but it is better than a dreadmill!

Has everyone kept on track during the holiday's?  For the most part I maintained on the bike but lost about 6 miles on the running.  Not too terrible considering it actually gave my knee a break.  The best part is I only gained 1lb with all the goodies I ate.

Sorta... I took a few (ok, 5) days off but have been back at it. I'm ditching my long run tomorrow as I'll be up at 6 prepping for our party. Short work day from noon to 3, then back home for final party stuff... White chicken chili on the menu, probably gonna drink too much. I haven't weighed myself lately, I'm sure I'm +5lbs... The mtb is coming out soon and I'm ordering a new P2 in a week or so. Once I add in the bike I should drop weight pretty quick! 2400 in the pool today and 1.5 mile recovery.run nursing a sore ITB... Happy NY everyone!

The holidays haven't affected my training, but my eating and drinking have gone up significantly.  But I figure its all good... back to a routine on Monday!

Happy New Year's everyone!

Oh, I have so over eaten this holiday season!  Thankfully, I've been able to run just about every day, so the damage hasn't been too bad.  I think.  I refuse to weigh myself, but am sure once Tuesday comes and I have to get back in my suits I will know the terrible truth    I did get a 10 mile run in this am, so at least I'm ending the year on a good note.

Happy New Year everybody - stay safe!
