I love climbing... my first and only experience so far has been in Alaska.  It was the most amazing experience.  I wish they had a place around where I live.

Note about the doc:  I finally got an appt.... in February!!  FML!  I guess I'll have to go to a walk-in clinic just to get me by.  I can't believe they couldn't take me in.  It'll take like 5 minutes to get a prescription and walk out and it's kind of an emergency now.  Yell I'm so mad!

Wow, I complain when I have to wait a week!

Of course the part that never fails to baffle me is as tired as I am and as much as my eyes sting, and as much as I absolutely HATE that first 5-10 min and make deals that I will quit in 5 minutes, that I end up doing my whole workout and feeling great. It is the crash at 6:00 p.m. that always gets me.....I call that my Zombie time.

I hear ya! The first 10-15 minutes, I am looking  for excuses to call it quits(my knee hurts or my back hurts) but after that it is a-okay! It sets me up for the day. I feel great the rest of the day. Of course my daughter is in bed a 8pm and my son at 8:30pm. My wife and I try to watch a PVR`d show...we don`t always make it to the end. Rarely am I awake past 10pm throughout the week unless I am playing hockey which is always late nights which I suffer for!

Who are the morning workout people in our group?

Most definitely not me anymore.  I used to get up at 4:30/5am for 1-1 1/2 hr swim workouts in high school and 6am for 2 hr workouts in college.  It took nearly 2 years for my body to stop waking up at 5 am on it's own.  But you won't get me out of bed that early anymore.

Wow, I complain when I have to wait a week!

I went to the pharmacy this morning and they said they'd get ahold of my old doctor that originally gave me the prescription and see if they could get me a new one.  Crossing my fingers!

So I made it to the range and had a little trouble with my new irons, but things got better and I was smacking the crap out of them.... AND they were going STRAIGHT!!  Now I'll have to play more often!

The swim on the other hand didn't happen because the pool was closed, because the water was a cold 76*F!!!  They were waiting for the pool to warm back up to 80*!!!!  I almost lost it.  That's way to warm for an outdoor pool to be in FLorida, but because so many older people (and I mean 70s and 80s) use it as a hot tub I guess they complain louder than I do!  I'm going to have to bring extra water bottles with ice water to keep myself cool during the workouts.  I just can't believe what the lifeguards were saying!  But I hopped on the stationary bike and got in 30 minutes and a lower intensity since I am not sure what my lungs can handle at this point.  Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get it out.

If I try to train in the morning I would need to wake up at least by 4:30 am...uh nope! I leave the house at 6:10 AM and get back into town at 6:30 pm.  the gym I use is about 15 mins from town and another 15 back home.  Most of my day is spent at work or on the road.  Good thing my husband works nights and weekends then I don't feel so bad being away from home and do not make him a gym widower. Plus he was a competitive body builder back in the day...he gets it.

Typical night last night got home about 8:30 ish still had to ride the bike for 45 mins...ate dinner way late...in bed by 10:30 up at 5...well honestly hit the snooze at 5 and up by 5:30.  I went to bed with my hair all wet so it was crazy this morning...fought with it for 15 mins trying to get down and into a clip and to make it look like I meant it to be this way.  Musta worked; when I got to work two people complemented my hair...ha ha.  Poofy works I guess!

Tonight?  Do it all over again.

I HATED morning swim practice in the spring. Cold, dark and usually still snow on the ground!

I am usually up at 5:40 and gone for work at 6. During the week I am a lunch time runner. On the weekend I have found that if I am out of the house by 6:30 I usually don't wake my daughter up and I can get back before she wakes up so get my workouts done in the morning if at home usually.

Every year I can't wait until I can start bike riding to work again because it means that I get to sleep in, as I don't like to ride without before dawn.

That is awesome. Where do you live again, you going to be able to get them on the road or are you stuck on a trainer?

Hi All - Just a brief update.  I made it to the hand doctor today and left a happy man.  Not only did they give me the green light to hop back in the pool - but they also gave me a splint to allow the water to drain.  Sweet!  So, I'll be getting up early to get 250 yds and some aqua-jogging in before work.

To continue the getting up early to workout thread - I get out of the sack at 4:45 so I can be at the gym by 5:30.  If I waited to work out until after work, I know it would never get done.  However, when I was in high school and running - I always had my best runs right after school.  As a teacher - I will look forward to summer so I can sleep in and work out at a time when my body is ready for it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Great news about the hand!

And about the golf clubs - it's really the only daddy daughter time I get, and I have all the need to have stuff for the tri.  Plus the clubs cost less than any clothes or extra stuff.  So I'll be keeping the clubs.

Weighed myself tonight and am down to 194.5. 8.5 lbs since Tuesday evening.  Very pumped.  Simply cut portions in half and haven't had barley's since hockey game on Monday.  Also, not eating past dinner has helped.  I have been drinking serious water as well.

I feel the 4:45 blues.  I am up anywhere from 4:45-5:30 depending if I have to go into gym or can run at home on run days.

1:35 on the spin bike tomorrow. dreadful.  I may get an extra few in on the treadmill, and maybe do some crunches.  Will definitely reward with a spa or sauna!  Hopefully it's 102 deg. +.

Definitely NOT a morning person here. Luckily I only have to go to work early 2 days out of 9. On those days I usually run after work. The rest of my workout days are usually later in the morning. Shift work does have some advantages especially getting lots of days off (my work schedule is 4 on/ 5 off)

Happy Friday!

I also had a great weigh in this morning.  I'm proud to say my weight will never gain start with the number 2!!  That's a promise to myself that I intend to keep!  Weighed in at 199.8 lol as close I could get, but nonetheless I have reached my first weight goal.  The next one is to be 185 by my first tri, which is Marineland sprint on 4/15.

Also was able to get in the water today.  Was able to do 1200 yds.  The temp was beautiful, no where near the 80* they said it would be.  Definitely in the mid-70's.  It felt great!

Weekend training plans:

Saturday: 30-45min stationary bike

Sunday: Most likely on off day & celebrating my parents 30th anniversary!

I will make sure start something for the swim seminar.  I haven't forgotten just got caught up with a volunteer thing yesterday.

Weekend training plans:

Saturday: 30-45min stationary bike

Sunday: Most likely on off day & celebrating my parents 30th anniversary!

I will make sure start something for the swim seminar.  I haven't forgotten just got caught up with a volunteer thing yesterday.

Great job on the weight loss! I found my knees thanking me every 10 lbs I lost!

Did you manage get an inhaler?

No inhaler yet.  The pharmacy is still working on contacting my previous doctor.
