deehtz - 2012-11-21 9:02 AM We leave this afternoon for overnight but it is only an hour and half drive.  I have one of my dishes ready (chocolate truffles and peanutbutter truffles)  and will fix the other one before we leave (broccoli/pasta salad).

Both dishes sound awesome.  Truffles win though.

mndymond - 2012-11-22 7:58 PM Happy thanksgiving. My residency applications have been officially submitted! Have to wait until mid December to find out if/where I will interview across Canada. Melissa may be coming to a neighborhood near you in the new year (if you live in Canada anyways...). It will be kind of cool to get to "run across" Canada do to speak!! Crossed fingers!

Fingers crossed that you get one you really want.

Okay, i'm all caught up for now.  Thanksgiving was great here in VA.  We had 9 from our family and another family of 7 came over, so it was a full house.  That would be a total of 9 kids in the house, and you knew it.  LOL

Today we hit the Air and Space Museum.  It was crowded, but i bet not as crowded as Black Friday shopping.  We had a great time.  The kids really enjoyed it and that is what counts.

Did get a run in this morning and did 6 miles.  I'm slowing building up the mileage, but the hip and leg are feeling it.  Tomorrow will try to get just another 4 in.  Other than that the plan tomorrow is to stay home and play games starting after lunch.  We were going to play games tonight, but we are all too tired.

Hope that all my Ghoulie Friends are having a great holiday weekend.

Sounds like an excellent time all around. Great on the run, don't add too many miles, too fast, though.

Morning Ghoulies.

Well, I have gone and done it, got in the NYC tri. I have been wanting to do that race for a while. I have no idea why it draws me. I was in 2 years ago, but had to withdraw for the death of Jim's Dad. I hope nothing goes wrong this time. I really want to do it.

Now I really have to get my azz in gear!

I thought that you had tried to do this race before.  Let's hope this is the year.

I did and had to cancel because of the death of Jim's Dad. Hopefully nothing will go wrong this time. I tend to be "race cursed" when I sign up for out of town races. (knocking on wood and crossing fingers).

We have had a really nice Thanksgiving weekend.  Time with family - both Larry's and mine together.  A little low key Christmas shopping  and even a couple of runs.  Hope everyone had good times!

Morning Ghoulies.

What's shaking today?

I'm at work now. Caleb is at Grandma's playing with his cousins. Keri went to an aunt's house to help her decorate her tree and bake cookies. This afternoon I need to take Caleb to basketball practice, then tonight Keri has practice.

That's it for here.

Yesterday I had an awful run. As Jim said, Gravity must have been stronger yesterday than usual.  I also chose a really hilly route. I need to get used to them cause my marathon is hilly.

It took the rest of the day to recover. A Thai dinner. and early to bed.

Today I just feel run over. I am going to take off work early today to finish what I didn't get done yesterday.

Yes, they have today off. They would have been off tomorrow, but it is now a makeup day for when they were off for Sandy.

Yes, we drove straight through.  Left at 6am and got home about 6:30pm.  Not bad.  Google says it should take 10.5 hours, Garmin said 10 hours, with traffic and a lunch stop it took 12.5 hrs.  At one point it took 1 hour to go 11 miles, but that was the worst spot.  The only other bad spot I was able to get off the road and go side roads for a few miles to bypass the traffic.

I have to report to federal jury duty tomorrow in Atlanta.  I'm not looking forward to the drive into the city.  No phones with cameras are allowed, so I won't have access to any email or internet.  Computers without cameras are allowed, but my laptop has the built in camera, so I'm guessing no computer for me. I am taking my nook.  It does not have a camera.  I'll read and play angry birds.  Hoping that I don't get a case as I do not want to drive into Atlanta for an extended period of time.

Later Ghoulies.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Last night they were calling for 2-4" of snow here today. Right now it is 38 and pouring down rain. I don't think we're going to get any snow.

Is this just the jury selection process?

Do they even make cell phones without cameras anymore?
