Master 2468 Muskego, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Still marathon training, trying to get more bike time, need to swim but my membership ran out and we're moving. Won't make sense to renew. Thinking about signing up for another 140.6 in between, I have the time since I won't go back to work until August. Eating better....for now |

Veteran 784 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I'm in the 2nd month of training with the new online coach I'm using. At this point I have done more biking and swimming than I have ever done in these months. havent really been focusing on running but that will change in March. Hace 2 races in March and the first Duathlon and Tri super sprint in April to kick off the season and see if the online coach is working.... |

Las Vegas | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread After being on the road for most of the past six weeks, training is going okay. Managed to take my bike with me on my longest trip, which was the first time I've traveled with one. It was a great idea! Although the weather in Clovis, NM left a lot to be desired; oppressive wind pretty much every day. Good resistance training though! Managed to miss the cutoff to sign up for IMSG70.3, so focused now on full-on training for the Armed Forces nationals in June, then transitioning to IM training plan. Couple that with a potential move in the summertime, as well as a trip to England for work, it should be an interesting time ahead. So I guess now is the time to make sure I'm laying down some solid base...which is almost what I'm doing! |

Master 2468 Muskego, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Uh.....I just found a way into IMTX for this year and took it. Figured that even though we're getting ready to move there was no time like the present to try and get a better result than last year. I'm still a stay at home dad until August so I have the time, now I just need to use it. Need to find a pool |

Extreme Veteran 504 SW Florida Gulf Coast | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I started working with a new (and awesome) coach in mid-January; installed a power meter on my bike (data geek = love) in late January; and am getting ready to wind down from running season (one half marathon left in two weeks). I'm not really focusing on IMFL right now as it's just too far out. However, June's Rev3 Williamsburg IS right around the corner, so that is currently my priority. Prior to Rev3, I have only one Oly planned for May. Unfortunately, a sprint that I had planned to use as my season opener in April was just cancelled. Looking to replace that. Love the updates from everyone! |

Expert 769 Murfreesboro, Tennessee | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread What is everyone focusing on now? Personally, I feel if I start Ironman training this far out I will get burned out before November. Right now I am working on speed for a couple shorter distance races (a sprint and OLY). The last race is June 1. After that I will take a week off and then start on my IMFL plan. Hopefully this early season speed work will pay off when I start the longer distances. My wife was glad to hear I was taking a week off in June so she booked us a vacation...to Panama City, lol. I promised her I would take the entire week off but it is going to be hard not to go for a training run on the course while I am down there. |

I'm 2 weeks removed from my marathon and a week until a 15k road race. This is my first Iron distance race and I'm a little worried about getting burnt out but want to be prepared. My first tri is at the end of the month. Once the races get started I think being focused on "the next race" will help me avoid getting burnt out. |

Master 2005 South Florida | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread marathon this weekend...just a teeny one - mostly a HQTD...focus right now is st croix 70.3 early may...a bit of rest, prepare for a crazy summer with work and then focus on IMFL come july / aug. when I think of IM training, I tend to not look at the big picture...here is my advice, like it or not! haha.... Look at each day from her until then as a puzzle piece. Lay them down...sometimes they won't fit and you will have to move them around until they do, but mostly put them down...come race day, you just get to sit back and enjoy the puzzle!! I just focus on day to day. Less overwhelming to me!! Keep up the training |

Expert 1130 Fernandina Beach, FL | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread After procrastinating as long as possible I booked a condo for the race. Hopefully I didn't mess up the dates as the schedule of events hasn't been announced yet. I'm booked Oct 31-Nov 5 and it looks like the mandatory meeting was 2 days before the race which would be my arrival day so I should be good right? Anyone ever stay at Treasure Island? It's 3 miles from the start apparently, which I thought was close enough yet far enough away to not get too caught up in everything. |

I figured it would be as mandatory as every other mandatory meeting I've missed. However this being my first full distance race I'd like to check it all out if I can. Also there tentative athlete check in ends at 5 on the 31st so I figured that would be the last possible day I could arrive |
