Cleared!!!!! went back to the Dr. yesterday and he said I was good to start swimming again, but to hold off on running, biking and lifting for another week or till all pain is gone.  So it is to the pool I go.  Good thing since I have my next coaching session tomorrow night.

I am not sure how people do it, just sit around and do nothing but watch TV.  I have had to do for 4 days now and feel horrible.

My hip flexors are so tight after yesterday's run and yoga, I swear it's difficult to walk upright today.

Great news.....now get to work!!!!


Tomorrow I go in for my Retul bike fit at a tri store here in town. And...getting the components put on too. Should be almost like a brand new bike.

Have some runs and riding this week.....then a 7 miler on Saturday and, weather permitting, my first brick. 25 mile ride, followed by a 5 mile run. I cannot wait!

But I don't need that much swim training....with my superior upper body strenght, my dolphin like agility, and my dashing good looks......the water is my friend.

I am so glad I got into this group!  You all keep me laughing and TOTALLY inspired!  I won't even complain about starting some crazy ab challenge on a FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! (who does that)  Instead, I will crush the ab workout and maybe throw in a few planks just to bring the heat!

For my February Core Challenge, I'm going to do the "Around the World" workout.  I'll start with 5 reps each and increase by one each day.  This is going to be tough because of all the additional core work with Insanity, but it's better to set a very difficult goal for yourself and fail, than to set a goal that would be easy to achieve.

 

I've decided to do this same exact challenge for February.  Come the end of the month I predict lots of cursing, sweating, and washboard abs!

Got my bike fit done!!!!!! Before and after pics are on my blog....got to check those out and look at the diffrerence in that a proper fit will do.

Excited for the challenge starting tomorrow. I think I'm just going to do 7001 tomorrow just to get them all out of the way.

No worries, we all know Brad can't count to 7001 all in one setting!

 

 

Last night I did not get to start my ride till almost 9:30, but I hammered out an hour and 8 minute ride. I have my bike computer tied to my rear wheel to give me an idea of the distance covered (although I know it is not 100% accurate), I still need to adjust the setting on my new trainer.

 

Today I have a 2400 yd swim (which will be great for the core

 

tomorrow I take my before pictures (once I figure out the best lighting for the picture)

1001, 1002.....I can barely lift my arm because of the deep burn. I don't know if you heard me counting but I did over a thousand.....

well my month is over as tomorrow is a rest day for S/B/R. Overall I was pretty much on track with what my training plan called for. I think I was a few miles short on the bike and swim, but life happens! I was able to do a lot of speed work in January and build a pretty good base, February will be more intense for me (and by March, I will have brought sexy back after killin the AB/Core challenge)

Hey y'all.

Rain is sorta hanging around here, but I rode my bike into work yesterday (just under an hour) and am riding home today (plus a big hill - well it is big for Brisbane), so will end up with about 90mins. 2 hour run tomorrow and then 4-4.5 hour ride on Sunday.

Plus getting shredded in the abdominal department. I've decided to change my goal and will aim to do the around the world challenge at least 3 times per week, starting at 10 and adding 1 rep per workout.

Got a good solid 2500m in the pool last night too, so all is feeling good!

Keep up the hard work everyone.

Rode 35 miles in spin room at gym then knocked out 3.6 miles on the dreadmill tonight.  I love the glances I get from those that walk out of the spin class and see me on the treadmill.  I know they think I am an idiot.  I guess we all are somewhat.  Thought that would be a nice way to finish the month.

Weekend?  My highlight is taking my daughter off roading as I teach her how to drive off road (4x4).  She needs to know how to use the jeep before she goes to school next yr and it is good father-daughter time.  

Weekend: I will swim, bike and run this weekend - imagine that!Laughing  (not gay to insert those by the way).  Oh yeah - I have to do some corework don't I?  Crap!  "You're killing me Smalls" Anyone want to name the movie the quote is from?

Stuart - wow I saw the sea foam on the coast during a news story.  Amazing more people are not injured or drowned.  I saw a car drive right though that mess and almost hit a pedestrian nearby. I guess I should not complain about the cold weather.
