why oh why do i read non-TAN threads?

ohhhh is it a good one. I need to be entertained... Point me in the direction I have popcorn and a bottle of water right now.

Go take a look at the pics from the best DIY construction ever that I posted the other day.  They are not only highly entertaining, but will also leave you feeling like no matter what, you're better at putting anything together than the guy in the thread.  Even better for me is that the neighbourhood is just about an hour or so away from where I lived in Vancouver.  Awesome!

I'm chomping at the bit to get your review.  Check out Twist the Throttle yet?  I really think you would like it.

I did find it eventually - it's not on Netflix, but I was able to find it on the Discovery Channel website!  I only got to see the BMW segment, though it looks like there are others as well about the other manufacturers?

The BMW segment was great!  I had no idea that their bikes had set so many speed records over the years!  Really, really, really makes me want to get a bike.

I've wanted one of those for years!!!! Something like the K 1600 GT would be nice!

Oooh - nice!  I wanted a K1300S for YEARS.... but now that Kawasaki has come out with their Ninja 1000... I seriously want to test ride the Ninja... and then maybe bring one home.

I'd like a nice sport touring bike.  I would have to get divorced first in order to get one though.  *sigh

Sometimes you just have to pick your battles.

I loved my VFR for sport touring and had a number of 1000km days on him.  I don't like what Honda has done to the new generations of VFR, but a good friend of mine (who had the same bike) has told me that this is much like it, but with a more comfortable riding position and more oomph!

Thankfully I think I've convinced Tony that he wants his motorcycle license as well.

That is Awesome Godd for you!!!

MrK thinks I will wrap myself around a telephone pole  I keep trying to tell him there aren't any more phone poles it's all unerground now but that does not seem to help any.

I am a bad driver, I do not like to drive, I sometimes can not figure out how to get to work from my house if I have to take an alternative route, I suck and will admit it!  This is a man job in my world!

The idea of me on a motocycle is scary, infact even being on my bike is not all that safe and have a few scar to prove it!

I seem to have a real fondness of men who don't live in my city.  I am 0 for 3 for men that live in Chicago, yet the Captain now has a condo here, and the new beau lives 50% of his time in Chi-town which could really work for me :-)  Getting closer.

Yeah I'm right there with ya. I'm on a self-imposed running hiatus until my back fixes itself.

my kneecaps started screaming at me last night during a recovery run.  If I was moving any slower, it would have been a brisk walk, yet the patellar tendon was still angry. Little bastid.

I've been hobbling around work like a granny all day.  It's really cute.  I know it's my fault for not doing enough cross training and stretching - my core gets weak and my back dies.

Mine isn't actually my back, it's the piriformus and it projects upward into the lower back and down into the back of the knee and it's not good. I need to find another form of cardio for a while, which sucks because running is the only part of the triathlon I actually enjoy!

Fun fact.  Reno NV is further west than LA and San Diego.

Alaska the most western state in the Union which you could guess.  But did you know it's the most eastern as well?

Same here (kind of). Now 7 weeks with no running (bad foot), except for one failed attempt which in hindsight was not a good idea. Like you guys, for me running is the most enjoyable/relaxing. I started physio on the foot this week. It doesn't look like there will be any runs in my future though for at least another 6-8 weeks. In the meantime lots of indoor bike rides, and looking forward to the outdoor pools opening in about 6 weeks.
