Master 1675 Suwanee, Ga. | Subject: RE: Avenging Angels Finding it hard to type from all of the push-ups and sit-ups I have done this week. Arms are shaking Good news this week though...The group that I am involved with to do a race next spring won an award in the Atlanta paper for getting a group together to start training. The group is centered mainly on the training for fitness but the goal is to compete in a beginner short sprint in late May. The group is now at 102 people And we only started in early September. We have folks from 10 years old to 80 I am so proud of some of these non-athletic people who have started training for this and some who will kick my a$$ next year if I don't watch out...That is why I have stepped my training up some but I can't get into the pool until January. remember....once a **Wild Hippo**....Always a **Crazy Fat A$$** Steve Edited by Reno8 2007-12-06 10:20 PM |

Expert 1024 | Subject: RE: Avenging Angels This thread grows faster than the Thread About Nothing. Anyways, I swam again this morning. I can't really run or bike due to the taper, but I figure I can swim. So I hit the pool this morn for slightly over an hour. So I've knocked out 60% of my goal and it's only Dec 7th. I may raise my goal, but I'm waiting to see how much I'll be out of town at the end of the month. |

Looks like we're at 26% at last glance! My stupid .38 yards really looks goofy in there. That's what happens when you convert metric to STANDARD, I guess |

Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Avenging Angels lisazapato - 2007-12-06 10:01 PM Hi guys, so it's been a LONG time since I've swum regularly - I did masters in January, and then I swam once in April and once in June. Then a little bit last week before the challenge started (2x). Yesterday, I swam 1300 yards, and today I FEEL SORE! Just a little bit in my triceps. Ack! Hahahaha, I guess that means I should get my arse back in the pool and just keep swimming! At the very least I should be able to knock out 2K and feel fine the next day . I swim in a local school pool though, and it has very limited hours and days that it's open. I won't be swimming again until next week, because I have a 5k this weekend! I am trying to be a better runner first and foremost, for the time being, and just getting back into the swing of swimming so I can kick it up just before next season starts. Anyway, Dee and Cat, with your supa-high volumes, I salute you! Then there's me, who is sore after 1.3K....heh . I is sore, too! Good luck in the 5k! |
