Ordered it yesterday from Rich @ wheelbuilder. He even hooked me up w/ a 20% discount on the PT hub to pricematch the trisports sale price. I'm gonna say it, "I told you so!" Rich is a good guy. I'm not surprised at all that Rich provided that discount. They make some great wheels and provide great customer service. What wheel are you having it laced to? |

I figure they'll have those for awhile so I can get the matching front later on. |

In fact, a guy here on BT has a blog where he does stroke analysis for people. I recommend checking it out, he explains these problems well, and offers solutions. What might seem like a decent swim stroke is often very inefficient, and he's got a great eye for it. http://badig.com/ Sent him an email yesterday, he's gonna critique my vids on his website. |

Expert 1179 Kansas City, Missouri | Subject: RE: brick94513-GoGoGo Mentor Group - Closed For Now! Tim, how do you position your shoes for the flying squirrel mount? I think the course should be flat enough tomorrow that I can do it, but I can't figure out how to attach the damn rubber bands . Do you just let your shoes hang off the pedals or use the rubber band trick? |

I think the course should be flat enough tomorrow that I can do it, but I can't figure out how to attach the damn rubber bands . Do you just let your shoes hang off the pedals or use the rubber band trick? Jay, I do both. On the tri bike, I use the rubber band otherwise your shoes can jam against the road. Take the rubber band through the rear of the shoe then pull it around the quick release on the rear skewer. This will keep both shoes and crank arms parallel to the chain stays. Check this out: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=1488 He shows the set-up at 4:30 in the video. On my MTB, I don't have to worry about this since the bottom bracket is higher so the shoes don't hit the ground. |

Extreme Veteran 793 Naperville, IL | Subject: RE: brick94513-GoGoGo Mentor Group - Closed For Now! Just checking in. Have dialed training back to 3x per week with all being runs. Feel like -- make that am -- really slacking, but at least my times are improving and I feel better. Hoping to get back at it in the next couple of weeks. My son hit a milestone yesterday in his XC meet. He broke 16 minutes for the first time coming in at 15:56. He's really pleased, but really frustrated -- he's got a strained hip flexor that's holding him back from really dialing down the times. Was so proud of him yesterday as he finished 4th at the conference F/S meet and managed to kick down 4 guys in the last 150m! Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday. |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: brick94513-GoGoGo Mentor Group - Closed For Now! Jeez, it took me all year, but I finally made the podium (barely). I finished 3rd yesterday in my division. At least I can end my season on a positive note! Race director changed some things up too from last year. Couple different trails, total mileage went over 50 miles (53), and the race was ran in the opposite direction. Climbing was about equivalent at 6,500 ft of elevation gain. No flats this year! |

Lol, hey, I'll take what I can get! Even if I wouldn't have been 'recognized' and just had to compete w/ my uber-competitive AG, I was happy w/ my results. I've made quite an improvement over the course of the 4 races I did this season, so I'm happy. brick94513 - 2010-10-17 2:34 PM Jeez, it took me all year, but I finally made the podium (barely). Extreme Veteran 565 Silicon Valley | Subject: RE: brick94513-GoGoGo Mentor Group - Closed For Now! Congrats Tim and Jay! Excellent work! I only got two runs in this week. The entire weekend was consumed by a trip to Tahoe locking down some wedding details...no time to sneak out for a run, but plenty of time for cake tasting. T minus 2 weeks for the marathon! Jay - I've tried the rubber band thing around the neighborhood and I like having the right pedal forward if I'm mounting from the left side of the bike, swinging my right leg up and over. |

Elite 3515 Romeoville, Il | Subject: RE: brick94513-GoGoGo Mentor Group - Closed For Now! Tim/Jay, great way to end the season! Big reminder to me how beneficial this group has been for all of us!!! Thanks again Test ride of the niner was good. I wasn't sure at first with the handling of the big wheels but it got better and better as I got used to the bike. I think it actually fits me well!! I was able to carry A LOT more momentum up technical climbs. Power transfer seemed about 15-20% more efficient than my FS in general. I think being 6'1" with extraordinary long legs really benefitted from the big wheels being I had the leverage to roll them. I've ridden expensive carbon race bikes 26" and I really feel the extra weight of the 29er is worth the trade off over the 26" bike with the extra momentum I can carry. It fits my riding style well! This is definitely a possibility for my spring race bike projet. |
