Got the eyeroll when I mentioned riding this weekend.  My sister comes into town tonight.  Trying to figure this one out.

Have a great race. I'd say good luck but you don't need it. Trust in your training.

So I'm having a tough time dealing with my injuries.  Here's my "letter" to the kid who caused the accident:

I imagine it's really rough.  If there is anything any of us can do let us know.

I feel so, so sad for you, Kelly.  I want to help but don't know how.  Writing this letter is a start, so you can get out some of your anger and frustration.  The unknown time factor in your physical healing has to be unnerving as well.

Kids do stupid things (heck, adults do stupid things), and I hope that young man truly did learn a lesson, or that he was at least shaken up enough to never ride his skateboard like that again.

x2. I really wish there was something I could do to help you through this. I am very sad and mad for you. The letter was very well written and the boy, I am sure, hasn't given it a second thought. He has no clue what you are going through because of him. Please tell us if we can do anything for you!!

Rest day today, and I need it.  This week has been absolutely exhausting with all of the packing, cleaning, and stuff going on with my kids.  My mother will be visiting for the next week, as she will help watch the kids while Kevin and I take care of last minute details before we leave Cleveland Heights.  I am in a bizarre emotional place right now.  We're leaving my kids' first house and the city I know and love.  I have a difficult time moving on (always have).  I just keep telling myself that the new house will be where we raise our children.  They will come home from college to that house.  I will host Thanksgiving dinners at that house.  I can't describe how I feel, but I want to cry.

Anyway, I have to take my bike in to have the seatpost swapped out, and then I have to take it for a short ride to see if it's comfortable.  I'll use tomorrow's easy spin to really make sure it's ok before Sunday's sprint.  I really don't like changing things right before a race, but like my husband told me........it's a 12 mile ride, and I can squat over the seat if I have to....LOL

Worked from home today which I've done a lot during the TDF so I can watch it without spoilers and not the wife off by watching it at night.

Waiting for the sun to rise before I head out for a short ZR spin and t run.  It's actually freezing right now, and I'm going to have to wear a long sleeved shirt.  It's supposed to get back up in the 90s tomorrow....just in time for my race.

Ugh.  Been under the weather the last two days.  It's taking a lot of energy to fake it since my sister and nephew are here.  Hoping to get back at it tomorrow or Monday.

Picked up a copy of Swim Speed Secrets to peruse.

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on here when I had good cell access while on vacation. The family in MI doesn't have internet and out on the farm there is not good cell service either. It was a good vacation and I got some nice runs in and and OWS. The OWS went well. The lake I swam in was very warm just like the one I will be swimming in. It was a very clear lake and the swimming area I could see to the bottom. I worked on my sighting and did an ok job at it. I actually felt just as comfortable in the lake as I do in the pool except when I got to a "grassy" area and was pulling grass and fish swimming every where freaked me out a little. I couldn't take my bike with me so no rides this last week until today...

So I was going to go out and do a brick this morning and it was overcast but no rain. The roads were dry so I decided to go outside. Well not even two miles in it starts to mist. I was ok until a down hill into a turn. I slowed down but didn't slow down enough due to the mist starting to make the roads slippery my back wheel slid out from under me and down I went. Lots of scrapes on the leg and butt but nothing major. My elbow lost a good chunk of skin. My new shorts are done after two rides in them :/ Bike seemed to be ok except the handlebars were out of alignment. Everything else seemed to work fine on the way back home. Some nice people walking in the neighborhood stopped to check on me which was nice. The shower aftewards was not so nice.

On a positive note Jeremy seems to be doing well at Lake Placid. I will read up on what else is going on with everyone later today. Kelly again I am sorry about your accident and hope you get better soon and I hope the letter was a little bit of a frustration vent for you.

Be kind to yourself today and make sure you don't have any serious damage.  Bike crashed suck!
